Steven L. Berthelsen's Online Review Report Card

It has been over a year since going into the office to have my ingrown toenail's taken care of. The staff was very nice. The problem is that the procedure was not done by Dr. Berthelsen. He instead left me in the care of a young intern. My nails are now jacked up. Six months after visiting the office I found a 1"piece of nail that had been left deep under my cuticle. And, since there was a sheet that prevented me from watching what was going on, it was not until I changed my bandages, days later, that I saw the most painful side of a nail wasn't even taken care of. I was not happy about making an appointment to see Dr. Berthelsen, only to be handed off to someone unqualified. Well, I'm guessing the doctor would have done a better job. I don't know. All I know is that I am still waiting for them to look somewhat normal again.

Clean, professional with courtesy

I had a consultation for a painful injured hammer toe and bunion with Luke Berthelsen, DPM, owner of Foundation Foot and Ankle. He recommended surgery for both conditions but his office always went to voicemail and the office didn't call me back. Therefore, I couldn't make a surgical appointment. My primary physician told me they were non-responsive to her office as well. I will be seeking a consult elsewhere and have to start all over again with x-rays and an initial examination. I also had to go through the trouble of getting a new referral for a different podiatrist. What a waste of time.

I had the best experience with Dr. Berthelsen and everyone on his staff. His knowledge and expertise was very much appreciated and the entire staff makes each patient feel cared about. Everyone there is very positive and knowledgeable. My feet are in the best hands there.

This doctor is one of the most kind, professional, caring , and accommodating that I have ever met. His receptionist, Rachel is very kind and professional! I have been to many doctors in my 58 years and this one is a jewel! Thank you for being better than the rest! Your new and happy patient, Lisa

My experience with Foundation Foot + Ankle was great! Dr. Berthelsen and all of the staff were nice, helpful, courteous, caring and accommodating. As I told Dr. Berthelsen, he is the best doctor/surgeon I've gone to, just beneath my heart surgeon! Thanks again for fixing my toes!

I went for my feet and one being ingrown toenail. I should have gone sooner. Half my big toenail was cut back. That was great but as time went on my toenail hurt and was bleeding The Doctor never said to have a revisit so I was waiting for my toenail to grow back. I’m in a lot of pain because my toenail isn’t growing properly and still bleeding . If Dr. Berthelesen had said please follow up I certainly would have. My daughter helped me by trimming it up because of the bleeding and pain. I really need a pain free toenail lol.

Great experience with Dr. Luke and would highly refer. Takes genuinely good care of his patients. Had a few visits so far, and in each visit Dr. Luke took good care of the foot, answered all our questions with detailed/helpful responses, and addressed long term care and recovery. He will not recommend a procedure that other doctors might, because its covered by the insurance. His new staff Janene Pinkyene (pronounced Pink-knee), is also a good addition to his team.

The team is incredibly kind and willing to work with you to ensure you’re cared for (priority one). They work with you whether you have insurance or not and are very transparent to ensure a lack of money doesn’t affect the quality of care. They are AMAZING!
