Very personable doctor and so terrific to have a Moh specialist right here in the Walnut Creek area! When I had my first Moh surgery,  20 years ago on the peninsula, one had to wait 4-6 hours until the doctor could see all the patients for that day. It's much more refined now.  Dr. Ahmad is empathetic & knowledgeable.  She discussed whether to stitch the area or to leave the small scar. At 71, I went for the small scar.

I highly recommend that you don't use Dr. Hina Ahmad as your dermatologist. She performed a MOHS surgical procedure on my calf and I ended up in the hospital for Staph and Pseudomonas infections two months later. The Pseudomonas infection eventually cleared up but the Staph returned again 2 weeks later. I am not leaving a poor review regarding the infections as infections do happen. I am leaving a poor review as she ignored my concerns of possible infection when I brought it to her attention two weeks after the surgery. One month after the surgery I came back to her office as I was greatly concerned of infection that she ignored. She took biopsies and then she forgot about them until I called to ask about the result over a week later. When the biopsies came back positive for infection she then tried to over dose me with antibiotics for a person 4 times my size. I'm 115 pounds. She also mistreated the wound using the wrong ointments and the usage of them. Malpractice! Horrible experience lasting well over 5 months. I now have a large scar on my leg that is very unsightly. This would not have happened if she would have not ignored my early concern of infection and treated it immediately.

Dr. Ahmad is awesome! I had Mohs surgery on my head performed by Dr. Ahmad about 18 months ago. Unfortunately, a different type of cancer has appeared (on my head again), and I have already called to book an appointment with her. She is not my regular dermatologist, but she is now my "go-to" for any derm-type of surgeries. My regular dermatologist is much closer to my home, but I don't have the confidence in that doctor for any more surgeries (IMHO, she dug too deep on two separate surgeries, creating a moon landscape on my head!). I have to pre-medicate with Ativan before a procedure because that's just who I am. I'm not a good patient as far as being calm and ready to go. I get shaky and very nervous, so the medication is a must or else I'd jump out of that chair so fast that even the good old Roadrunner wouldn't catch me. I very much appreciated last time how she draped my head with sterile sheets and let them come down and cover my face so that I can't see what's happening. I'm not sure if music is allowed with Air Pods (wireless), but I'll ask this time and come back and edit my review. I hope so---music helps a lot as well. I recommend Dr. Ahmad to anyone who needs to have dermatology surgery---she's really skilled and is a people-person who understands that patients are people and not just another paycheck walking in the door. (I had doctors like that---never again). Thanks for reading!

Explained the process in terms I could understand. Worked well with her team. I felt I was receiving the best care possible.

Great Communication-Made me feel at ease and comfortable . Dr Ahmed explained everything that would be done during the mohs surgery. She was understanding and considerate. She was able to fit me in to her schedule which was very helpful!

Did not go well.I've had several surgeries previous to this and from the front desk to the Dr., this office treats you like a car not a person.

Dr. Ahmad is very professional, thoughtful and kind. I’ve seen her for many years and she has discovered and treated skin cancers and i have felt very well taken care of.
