List of Jeffrey T Bortz's Reviews
Dr. Bortz saves lives. A Mohs surgeon with the highest skills. I know of several neighbors that agree, Dr Bortz soved their lives.
Hema Patel has given me the best doctor patient visits. Hema is knowledgeable and gives you the time to make sure that everything is complete. Do something nice for her. She is highly deserving of it!! Wish there were more like her. Also Aleiha Delano at the front always goes over and above. Her cheerful attitude and attention to all patients is over and above!!!!
Dr. Bortz did MOHS surgery on me at least 15 years ago. He is amazing!!! I lost most of my left earlobe in the surgery. It was not his fault as he had to take over from what Stanford Dermatology screwed up. I am thankful he did so well. Dr. Jeff Bortz is THE premier dermatologist as far as I am concerned. Do NOT hesitate, go see him for your dermatology needs!!!!!
Dr. Bortz was great. He answered my questions and his office staff were very friendly - the entire experience put me at ease quickly. Mohs surgery was efficient and successful, very business-like, definitely confidence-inspiring and completely pain free. He is a good surgeon, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Had a horrible experience visiting the office today. 1st) I schedule an appointment with Dr. Bortz but never was seen by him (MOST IMPORTANTLY NOBODY NOTIFIED ME THAT I AM NOT GOING TO BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR) however, they sure knew to charge my insurance for seeing a DR. today. 2nd) (Patient be aware) the office asks you to sign two forms (if this is your first time) on the second form last line it states that you agree to the office policy but in the previous lines there are no indication of what are the office policies at all. I READ EVERY SINGLE LINE and when I told the nurse about it, they said they will print out the policy for me BUT THEY NEVER DID, despite me asking THE SECOND TIME. 3rd) the non-doctor (PA) who consulted with me had no clue Ketoconazone will have dryness side effects and on the areas that I have fungal, instead of prescribing anti-fungal treatments prescribed lotions. (WHICH JUST LOOKING IT UP WILL TELL YOU IT SHOULD NOT BE PRESCRIBED)IN CONCLUSION, 1st) thank you Dr.Botz and staff of the Golden state dermatology office, for lying to me and schedule an appointment with a Dr. that I never seen; instead, leave me with an inexperienced PA who would put my life in danger with their lack of knowledge and prescribing wrong medicines. 2nd) thank you for NOT valuing your CUSTOMERS RIGHTS by forcing them sign forms without informing them what they are for and when they ask you for them, you ignore them.I guess nowadays its really hard to EVEN TRUST THE DOCTORS, CAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT PROFIT AND MAKING THE MOST MONEY rather than helping their patients.PS. I know the management will reply by saying.... customer satisfaction is their ultimate goal in this office and sorry if the patient endure difficulties during visit and they will do anything to make it right.INSTEAD OF PUTTING THE TIME TO WRITE THAT B.S, HOW ABOUT START BY NOT LYING TO CUSTOMERS AND RESPECT THEIR RIGHTS.
Did a great job on my Moh's Surgery and stitching me up. Had long wait times in between checking in, prepping and surgery so it took longer than I thought it would but I'm happy with the work Dr Bortz did and hopefully recovery will be smooth!
I have been a patient of Dr. Bortz's since he started practicing in Walnut Creek. I recommend him to everyone for his expertise and knowledge. I feel safe knowing that he is the one responsible for my skin cancer issues. His surgery technique is amazing and leaves me with very little or any scarring. He deserves a 10!
This was my second procedure two years apart, the first healed perfectly. They seem to care as much about how you look after the procedure as getting rid of the cancer. This was especially important since my procedures were on my face. They are friendly, professional, and caring, I highly recommend.
The visit was great! I felt well informed and listened to. It was a good experience and I came away feeling good about my upcoming surgery.
Dr. Bortz is perhaps the best doctor I have ever had. He is very busy, but he takes the time to answer questions, and to perform the Mohs procedure with the utmost care, precision, and professionalism. He spent a very great deal of time in sewing the graft onto my finger, and I am confident that he did the work comprehensively and perfectly. His credentials are awesome. His treatment is perfect. I cannot imagine a better medical practitioner than Dr. Bortz.Dr. Bortz's staff is also excellent. Much of the preparation is performed by M.A.'s and his nurse, and their work is as commendable as is that of Dr. Bortz. I especially recognize the excellent contributions of Anthony [LVN], and Eliza & Karina [Medical Assistants]. The staff, and Dr. Bortz himself, take the time to ensure that the patient understands the procedure, and the post-operative care to be undertaken by the patient. They really care, and that is not universal amongst medical practitioners. After the procedure, I received phone calls from Anthony [nurse] and Tricia Loo [P.A.] They were checking to see that all was well. I cannot ever recall any other medical office doing that. Also, when I had a question, I was immediately put through to Anthony. I sent in photos of my area of concern, Anthony and another Dr. in the office [Joy Makdisi, M.D.] examined the photos, and Anthony phoned me immediately. Dr. Bortz and his staff are the best of the best.No one wants to get skin cancer, no one wants to undergo any kind of surgery; but, thanks to Dr. Bortz and his staff, an otherwise-daunting situation becomes considerably less intimidating. I recommend Dr. Bortz without reservation. Please note: Dr. Bortz's practice is named Golden State Dermatology. There are several offices with this name. Dr. Bortz's office is at 355 Lennon Lane, in Walnut Creek. All of my [very positive] comments refer EXCLUSIVELY to this specific office of GSD.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
