List of John Muir Walnut Creek Urgent Care's Reviews
I'm not allowed to post negative stars, but I did file a formal complaint with both the Contra Costa County Health Department and the California State Department of Health Care Services.I went in with an appointment on 31 October for a midgrade issue, and was hoping for a scrip for antibiotics to help a severely-infected tooth until I could find a dentist. I'm new to the area, and haven't been able to establish primary care yet. But I'm fully insured from two decades on "permanent" federal disability.I presented Medicare, Medi-Cal and Contra Costa Health Plan insurance documents. Was told they couldn't see me. I then offered to pay cash out of pocket.THEY REFUSED TO SEE ME.Let me say that again to those in the back: I OFFERED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET AND THEY REFUSED TO SEE ME.I was sent to the ER, and forced to take up time and space from someone who actually needed emergency care.I WAS FULLY INSURED AND OFFERED TO PAY IN CASH, AND THEY TURNED ME AWAY.I guess John Muir isn't licensed to operate in the State of California, as cash is considered legal tender in the State. Maybe I'm missing something?
I was seen by a physical assistant with acute pain. They wouldn’t treat me with the tests I need. I havd insurance and I’m immune compromised due to cancer. I can’t get hold of my primary care doctor. I’ve been on the phone for 40 minutes to try and make a appointment to see her. They want you to go sit in the emergency for hours in critical pain and be exposed to all the germs. My message is don’t waste your time to go there. She refused to even look up my medication list to get pain medication. Worst experience ever.
Staff was great. Dr. Khan is a good listener and extremely competent. I had been through a lot trying to get help for a reaction and she knew right away what was going on and knew all about the meds I could and couldn’t have with my conditions. Need more doctors like her.
Went there today because my one year old has a fever. They wouldn't give me a doctor's note so she could be excused from daycare. They said she has to have a fever when she comes in. Well I take care of my child and had already given her medicine to lower her temperature. The nurse couldn't get my one year olds' pulse as she wouldn't stay still. I asked her to get the pulse manually and instead she told the doctor I was refusing service and then stormed out. Honestly I think they don't know how to do anything without machines. Sad.
I have been very pleased with this JohnMuir Urgent Care facility on Treat Blvd until now. They refused to give me a covid 19 test unless I obtained a referral from my primary care doctor who happens also to represent John Muir health. However, my John Muir doctor has a full calendar. What a John Muir catch 22.I immediately found a non - Muir location and they saw me immediately. Fortunately I tested negative.Sometimes I am sorry I am a John Muir patient.
I don't write reviews but after seeing all the negative reviews I have to say that was absolutely not my experience today! Fantastic place, quick, efficient. I was called in within 3 minutes, saw a doctor within 5 minutes and had to get an ultrasound. They do them right there!
Nurse practitioners, No Doctors in Urgent Care.I took an appointment at urgent care and I was told that a doctor will see me. I have other health issues hence I made sure I am meeting a doctor. When I went there, the name given as Dr xxxx was a nurse practitioner. This is my second incident. John Muir medical group is reducing their cost by appointing Nurse practitioners and do not care about patients health. Next year I am out of John Muir medical group.
Spent 3 hours for my daughters arm fracture. As the result, no treatment but a non-urgent referral by Dr ROSTAI to an orthopedist. Really? Urgent care? No urgency and no care.
Twice I have been tp this location and was not treated correctly. This last trip I told the doctor that my childs UTI was probably e-coli, as the last few had been. Her chart showed e-coli as the only bacteria she has had several times. Then I was prescribed an e-coli resistant antibiotic. Why bother saying anything or having a chart
I had a great time with this Urgent Care, up until I met with the doctor. I paid 50 dollars for the visit and I got less than 5min (I believe around 2 min) of the doctor's time. I asked him more questions regarding other medical problems, which he responded "I have no time". Very disappointed by the lack of care for patient here. The doctors name was Gurinder S Wadhwa, Do. The front desk representative was wonderful and the nurse.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
