The worst of the worst. Tina at this office is so damn lazy, if you're calling to verify scripts, she will just say okay to everything without even checking with the doctor. She does not care about the patients. If you or your parents go here I recommend you find a new dr asap. Your parents or yourself could be prescribed medications that aren't right for them and when the pharmacy calls to verify anything, good ol' Tina will answer the phone and pretend to verify with md but In actuality she's just saying whatever the hell she wants to. I honestly got to give it up to dr Nguyen when it comes to his patients being in the hospital, he will actually go out there to check on them maybe because it pays him big bucks? But the staff there, they are the worst. Especially that Tina girl. She's the main one to answer the phone. Beware. She will say anything to get you off the phone. Don't let her get away with saying anything, be stern with her and she will end up doing her job correctly.
If I had a choice for no stars I would. The staff here is rude. It seems like they don't want to help or get business from you. I called to make an appointment and they said they won't have one until the week after. I asked to see if I can walk in and they said that's fine. I went in and they said they take appointments only. Please do no go here. I refer business elsewhere.
Agree with all of the reviews. I went there years ago and begged my mom to stop going there as well. She just recently got wise to his practice. Dr Nguyen is about the money from the elderly. His wife or head nurse is rude and unprofessional. She tried to collect my blood once not using sterile technique by pressing on my vein, no gloves, then attempted to stick me. Hold on..same alcohol swab?? Lady, you're not a real nurse and could've infected me. Why do I know this?? Bc I'm fucking nurse too! I wasn't given the correct meds. I paid cash for a proper physical and all he did was say up, down, bend, ok you're good to go and collected $40. Went to a real NP and she did a proper physical and blood work. Stay away please. Protect our elderly.
I usually don't like to write reviews that much but I feel like it's my duty to protect good people. I agree with the Yelpers! He is not a real doctor. Does not have the passion and drive to care for his patients. He'll prescribe anything to you just to get you out of the office while he collects money. His wife, I heard, is something else - unprofessional and rude. If you still have this Dr. as your PCP, please leave and find a better PCP. Save yourself. I believe he is also working in an office on Anaheim street in Long Beach.
This doctor is plain stupid and unprofessional all about the money. Ask what's wrong with you and just give u meds and that's it. My father died under his care now my mom is really sick. All he do is prescribe meds. Won't send you to any specialist.
Very rude staff. I called and asked about their services. In short, the female who answered the phone was very rude and spoke in a tone that was unpleasant and unprofessional. She said that the office couldn't help. I felt like I offended her just by calling. Off to the next doctor's office.
I hate this place. Dr Nguyen is unprofessional and especially his annoying wife. She thinks she's miss kmow it all just because she's the doctor's wife. You just wanna smack the shit out of her. I know a lot of doctors and nurses told me Dr. Nguyen stole their Cambodian patients from under them once he opened his offfice. Changed my mom's PCP.
Definitely one of the worst doctors. Ever. What I'm getting from this doctor is, "Yes. I'm a doctor. I went to school. Got a degree. Got my certification. I know some health stuff. Oh, what's wrong? You're sick? Tell me about it. Okay, here's the medicine you need."My mom has a serious condition to which her treatment is absolutely time sensitive. He had us running around to all these different doctors & labs without following up on his own requests & referrals. Had not it been for my brother and I doing all the work she would've probably never received the treatment she needed. We had a request that was approved for over a month to which we were never notified of him making nor having approved. As soon as we saw the real doctor, he took immediate action and it was done well and promptly. This doctor just sees people and prescribes medicine. I don't think he could really dig deeper than that to address the problems of his patients unless it was as clear as night & day. If it isn't, he'll just through you into a system of unnecessary procedures and referrals/consultations so you can waste your time, money, and gas just to get the same diagnosis you could've gotten with an actual doctor who actually knows what they're doing. It's not like he's super busy and has hundreds of members in his care either, so I'm trying to figure out what the excuse is.I too am Cambodian and I'm honestly tired of how incompetent the selection of doctors are just because of the language barrier. Nobody needs to be put in danger just because they can't speak the language. My dad has also been seeing them for years and again, it's because of the language barrier and he's starting to make changes to see any other doctor who cares about what they're doing, regardless of language. That's what an educated, cultured bunch of offspring are for. Protect your parents. If this doctor is your PCP or of someone you know, you're screwed or they are. Save a life and avoid this one. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review and I've been a Yelp member for years already.
My in-law have been going here for years just because they are staff with employees that speak cambodian. This is the second time that I know of that Dr. Nguyen referred them to go to the ER just to get blood work and X-ray. The first time they were at the ER, Dr nguyen came in to examine them. They were sent back home after Dr Nguyen examine them. Dr Nguyen could have examined them at his clinic instead of sending them to the ER. After having talked to the doctor's and explaining their symptom, I don't think the doctor's know what he is doing and only reason the Dr. sent them to the ER is to billed Medicare for more money. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that dr Nguyen could have send them to have the lab work done at a laboratory or a X-ray done at the imaging place.
Not a great primary doctor to have. I went to Dr. Nguyen from a referral from my Orthodontics Doctor and expected to be treated well here. Upon a couple of encounters, experienced the level of professionalism to decline as a practice in Dr. Nguyen's office. I am getting surgery and needed my "Primary Doctor" to clear me in order for my surgeon to proceed. When attempting to schedule this appointment, Dr. Nguyen contacted my insurance directly to see "if I had met my deductible yet". Upon doing this, he then proceeded to try and charge me up front for the clearance to my surgery, essentially, going outside of my insurance to proceed with this. Upon finding out that I had to pay out of pocket up front, I proceeded to call my insurance and ask if this was typical. This led to my insurance and myself placing Dr. Nguyen on a '3-way' call of which, ended at him (as my primary doctor) telling me to ask my surgeon to refer me to another doctor for the clearance. Needless to say, Dr. Nguyen is no longer my primary doctor due to lack of professionalism, courtesy, respect, and consideration of his patients. Not recommended for quality service.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
