Schreier lied to me about the surgery, he leaned into an option that was better for him, worse for me.Staff at the surgical center said his office was awful, believe them. After I corrected several errors at the surgical center, his office still hadn't fixed it.Angela is a complete nightmare, screwed up my phone number, name, and type of surgery on the paperwork and grew extremely hostile when confronted about it. "We don't use email" she says. She threatened to cancel my surgery if I didn't go get blood work that couldn't get because the paperwork had NOT YET ARRIVED via mail. She magically gained the ability to email it to me.I said I cannot take opioids, they make me sick, so Scherier said "he didn't want any prescription paid medicine" to my girlfriend who inquired about post op care. Of course I needed meds I was in hell after surgery. They (Angela) lied to me and said tramadol wasn't an opioid, prescribed me opioids when I asked them not to, got sick.A nurse called me today and got the date of my surgery wrong, said I shouldn't be feeling pain still, and that I should come in. She'd call me back around 2.Calls me at 2:48 PM and says "are you on your way???"Denied that she said she'd call me back to confirm.Got to today's meeting with Scherier and he basically says "I'm sorry you feel that way" and proceeded to tell me I was "nitpicking" when I criticized the way everything had happened.
If you're considering Dr. Frank Candela, do yourself a favor and avoid this surgeon altogether. Narcissistic & in-empathetic. I was rushed to the ER due to his negligence, and he blames it on "anxiety". I suspect he doesn't know the meaning or feeling of the word. But if you enjoy trauma and rolling the dice with your life, then by all means.
Absolutely do not recommend.
Lowest of Low Dr. Candela recommended and performed a colon reduction. I felt rushed into having the procedure by his over- confidence. He then cancelled post-op checkup two times in a row due to "personal matters" even after I expressed concern over pain and fever. Ended up in Emergency with a diagnose of sepsis from leaking intestinal tract. He had failed to properly close up the internal intestine. I ended up having to have an ileostomy (external feces bag) for months. Ended up going to a specialist at USC to finally get the ileostomy reversed.

Stay clear. Post surgery ended up with sepsis due to improper closure during surgical procedure. Resulted by having to then endure living with an ileostomy for extended period of time. Went to another doctor to clean up the first two surgeries.
When you call you are greeted with the most annoying robot woman voice ever. Wish they would have the regular people answering the phone or at least get rid of that disgusting robot voice, literally makes me feel sick to my stomach and I just tried to call today and nobody was there and it said to leave a message than it hangs up before you can even try
I got injured back on 05/08/2022. I went to Dr. Candela's office in West Hills. Candela diagnosed me with an "Adductor Tendinitis" within the first 3 minutes without physicals evaluation. I mentioned a about my hernias on both sides. Upset He asked to drop my pants in front of the lady accompanying him. He checked the scrotum and affirmed it was the Adductor. He wrote it down on his business card. He set a two weeks follow up. On the follow up day, he didn't remember the reason for the follow. I mentioned the "Adductor Tendinitis". He asked me to drop my pants but this time, he robbed my belly instead. It could had been done with pants on. Then he order a CT scan and bloodwork . I asked something for the pain. He said that was on primary MD instead. Now, his assistant told my MD assistant they found nothing wrong with me at all and no need for pain medication. So if I am fine why a CT scans? It's all about revenue not health. The manager is very unprofessional & rude

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
