Arthur Benjamin's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Benjamin is a very smart doctor. No doubt he is skilled. But so are many doctors. If, however, bedside manner is remotely important to you, he will not be a good match. After he diagnosed both my glaucoma and cataract issues he wanted to perform surgery, but passed me over to his surgical assistant to discuss details. She quickly told me the sum and then walked away. Both insisted my insurance would never cover it. I then emailed him, saying it never hurts to ask. But after I explained my insurance company needed the specific codes for each procedure, his staff refused to provide them. Dr. Benjamin was forced to write a detailed email and then advised me he had never done that before and that I should look elsewhere for a doctor I would find more amenable. But then Dr. Benjamin’s office played delaying games releasing my medical records. What could and should have taken about 10 minutes took months, even when my own primary care doctor got involved (they hung up on him). I found a different doctor who does not act as if he is God. My insurance covered the procedures and I had my surgeries. There’s no need to put up with this kind of treatment.

I go in twice a year to keep my best eye health. Dr. Benjamin changed my life with my eye surgery a couple of years ago and I look forward to every visit now. Thank you, Dr. Benjamin.

Office called and rescheduled my appointment three times. The nurse/doctor who performed all the tests seemed new and somewhat unsure how to operate the equipment. In addition to a $200 office visit (not including the test fees added) they charge an additional $125 to actually give you your glasses prescription (otherwise they won’t even tell you the results). Once the doctor came in he seemed rushed and annoyed. They no longer take most insurances so I had to pay a $300 office visit (and without a new eye prescription which is what I came for) as I wouldn’t pay the up charge. This office has the latest high tech equipment but they nickel and dime you and really aren’t very nice people.

Life saver! I can't say how thankful I am for the amazing care of this office. Ok, so I had a puff up of my eye on a Sunday. It got worse, so Monday morning I went to an Urgent Care and got a cortisone steroid shot to help with the swelling. By the time Monday late afternoon i was getting worse. I called Dr. Benjamin's office and they fit me in first thing the next morning on an already packed schedule. I get in and turns out I have an abscess infection in my under eye with several styes! It was really terrible with awful swelling. I was so well taken care of by this office and Dr. Benjamin took me right in. This is a delicate area in the eye and I've never had such a situation happen to me. I felt at ease and so grateful for being so well taken care of when I was so scared and in bad bad shape.

One word: AMAZING. Best investment I ever made in my life so far. From being 95% blind to 100% regaining full vision is incredible and thanks to Dr. Benjamin. You are a life saver. I also want to thank your wonderful and professional team. Julie "Princess" you made this journey very serene.

First time at an ophthalmologist and could not have been a better experience. Came recommended by another doctor which is always great sign. Seamless, friendly and made it not feel like being at a “medical” appointment. Well worth making them your go to!

February 5 2021 I received excellent care. Dr. Explained my problem very well. Recommended treatment. Best service from office and nurses. Thank you. We were unable to visit the doctor for a few years. We never went anywhere else. This doctor has always been our #1 choice.
