David Chang's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Chang was great. He took the time (a lot of time) to answer all of my questions and review treatment options. He steered me away from surgery at this point (and referred me to an excellent pain clinic for an epidural injection) but if I do end up needing surgery I will definitely trust Dr. Chang to do the job.

I had a cyst on my spine and had constant shooting pains down my leg. Marina Spine Center was recommended to me by a friend after I was told by a different doctor that I needed a spinal fusion. My friend had surgery for a disk problem from a different doctor in the office that was completely successful. Dr. Chang recommended a Laminotomy, which is minimally invasive, but because of Covid I had to wait a couple of months until the hospitals opened up for surgery. The surgery was done at Cedars-Sinai as an outpatient, and I experienced immediate relief. Over the next couple of months I did have a few times that the numbness would flair up but was told to give it some time. After going through several weeks of physical therapy to strengthen my core muscles, all symptoms were relieved. It is now 5 months later and I have no pain or weakness and have resumed all activities. Their office staff was very helpful and responsive from day 1 and I am so thankful that I found this office and Dr. Chang!

There are not enough words available to express my true appreciation and gratitude for Dr. Chang!  We were referred to Dr. Chang from a friend who raved about his positive experience and outcome with Dr. Chang and his staff.  My wife was admitted to the ER with horrific nerve pain down the entire left leg.   When I paged Dr. Chang, he not only called me back within minutes, but he actually showed up to the ER in order to put my wife (and me) ease. This alone was huge!  Dr. Chang is immensely smart, knowledgeable, conservative and HIGHLY personable.  He is also not one to rush into surgery, unless it's absolutely necessary.   Dr. Chang performed a Discectomy on my wife on a Thursday, and the following day, she was discharged from the hospital with NO PAIN in her leg (only surgical pain which was expected).  Dr. Chang is now our hero and I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of a Orthopedist (spine).  Dr. Chang's PA, Shawn, is also a CLASS ACT who also played an integral role in helping my wife!!!!!  We are so fortunate to have found Dr. Chang!  The entire office staff is a truly a cut-above!

My husband recently had a laminectomy/lumbar diskectomy with Dr David Chang. Dr Chang was absolutely wonderful, husband was in and out of the hospital the same day and his pain is completely gone. We cannot recommend Dr Chang highly enough - not only is he one of the most skilled surgeons in the field but he's also one of the kindest and smartest doctors we've dealt with.

This very bright physician has taken care of my wife who's been in a nursing home for a year subsequent to her stroke. I find Dr Chang to be responsive in answering questions and he has treated her and myself with respect. Not an easy specialty/calling.

Dr David Chang is highly skilled and gifted surgeon.I could tell he is high quality surgeon from the first interaction with him.Very professional,knowledgeable,honest and respectful.Before the surgery I was not able to walk more than 5 minutes after his surgical procedure I was able to resume my walking ability.I am a very tough judge and would recommend him very very highly.

Dr. Chang operated on my back had a very good result I know other people including my daughter who  he has operated on and they have had a very good result he is excellent and I highlyRecommended him

Dr. Chang and Dr. Sean are as good as it gets.  They totally explain exactly what procedures they will be doing in the operating room.   My pain was gone when I woke up in recovery.  They are both such caring doctors and inform you each step of the way, what will be happening. I thank my lucky stars that I found them.

After coming here seeing the doctor countless times over years  doing back injection at a  hospital  I told them I needed medical paperwork for my lawyer they yelled at me said they don't deal with lawyers kicked me out of the office made me feel like I did something wrong I had a herniated disk a linear tear and needed  paperwork my medical bills were not paying for themselves  metro denied even hitting me  these guys are backwards will bill you to there convenience and not care about your circumstances I almost lost my trial due to there practices  and not wanting to give me my medical records stay awaaaaaaay

Dr. Chang gave my husband his life back. Never write reviews but Dr. Chang is more than deserving of 5 stars. He is kind ,smart and explains everything. My husband is 81 years old with diabetes and hart disease which requires that he never comes off blood thinners . Dr. Chang worked with his cardiologist to find away. After surgery my husband severe pain was gone. The only pain he has is from the surgery. l would only recommend Dr. Chang and his wonderful staff. D.G.
