List of Rimma Shaposhnikov's Reviews
I was impressed with Dr. Rimma Shaposhnikov. She spent time explaining the colonoscopy and endoscopy and the procedures went well without any trouble. Her follow-up was thorough. I couldn't figure out how to access the video visit, so she set up a Zoom meeting. She's professional but also personable. Her office staff and the nurses at the UCLA Health West Hills Digestive Diseases where I had the procedures were especially friendly and thoughtful, even bringing me some snacks afterwards as I waiting in the recovery room hungry from fasting the day before. I highly recommend Dr. Shaposhnikov!
I had a bad experience with Dr. Shaposhnikov. She insisted I needed an endoscopy (which I didn't because she didn't find anything after performing it). She admitted to me that she made money on this procedure and not on prescribing medication (which is what I needed, not the endoscopy). She also argued with me about my diet and basically said that she does not believe any of her patients when they tell her things about their own body and health.
Best doctor around. Knows her stuff and so educated. I was in and our with no pain. All my questions were answered and I have no complaints.
My new patient appointment lasted 20 minutes during which time the doctor asked me questions and typed my answers into a computer. Questions I had just answered on the new patient forms I had to fill out. She was rushed and rather snappy when I asked two questions, she answered one. It became obvious to me she had no interest in me or my condition, only in getting on to the next patient. A waste of my time, I decided when I left there I would never go back to her she is too high volume. I was later charged $725.00 for her services which were non existent Appalling level of care! Would give her 0 stars if I could-worst experience I've ever had with a medical professional. If you're looking for a caring and compassionate doctor who takes an interest in you, go elsewhere! Fortunately I found a new doctor with the same credentials who spent over 45 minutes with me and charged $300. No computer, lots of advice and insight into my medical problem and discussion of possible treatment. Referred me to another doctor for a colonoscopy and instructed me to return to him afterwards for follow-up. Well worth the drive to the Valley.
Great doctor and extremely knowledgeable! Dr. Shaposhnikov actually listens and is willing to do what it takes to discover the root of a problem. Highly recommend making an appointment.
I had a routine colonoscopy performed which was normal, however, I called to follow up with questions and have never heard back from the office after multiple messages and emails. The communication is virtually non existent. The communication before the procedure was no better as I never received any call backs to any of my questions before the procedure either. the office cannot be reached directly, one must go through the ucla switchboard and messages never returned.
Dr. Shaposhnikov is pleasant beyond what you can imagine. What I had been trying to get fixed since 2011, she remedied in 20 minutes. REALLY! She is very knowledgeable and I would HIGHLY recommend her. Side note: Don’t even think about having even a tiny bit of a hash brown before a colonoscopy. ;) SBM
If you need a prescription for the latest and greatest PPI medication Dr Shaposhnikov is your best choice. In case your looking for a diagnosis, and a real treatment look somewhere else.
She prescribed a medication for a problem I did not have, a medication that injured my rectum, resulting in proctitis. (a highly unpleasant condition for which there is no cure) She admitted as much to my other doctor, but insisted that "she'd never heard" of my result, so this obviously was not her fault. Please make sure to research that the drugs she gives you are for what you came in for.
I saw Dr Shaposhnikov for a routine colonoscopy. Over the years, working in the medical profession and being a patient myself, I have had the opportunity to observe many physicians. Dr Shaposhnikov does not see a GI tract walking into her office but instead sees the entire patient. Because she took time, she picked up two separate issues that had nothing to do with the colonoscopy and insisted I follow up. Her advice, concern and insistence served me well.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
