God Bless You all
This facility is definitely hands down from management to staff they will definitely let your loved one die slowly, one of the elderly patients mentioned the nurse gave him to much medication that is not acceptable these individuals trust these medical professionals to take good care of them and yet they kill the patients! Bad place to take your loved one before sending your loved one to a facility call the insurance company for in home care. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!!!!
My mother had a unexpected brain hemorrhage over a month ago & was taken to Mission Hospital first where she stayed at for about three weeks, she had bleeding & seizure activity in her brain but got all that under control, then was transferred to this place & continued to look very brain dead for the first week looking like she wasn't gonna get any better, but then started to show some improvement day by day & became much more responsive after that. She just got transferred to a facility in Santa Ana where she'll go through speech therapy, etc & she now looks very close to her old self. Overall the nurses at this place are very nice & did a nice job helping my mother improve dramatically.
Do not send your loved ones here!!!! We are extremely disappointed with the care my father received. They do not have " bedside sitters" and so instead they say they use sedatives on an "as needed" basis but really they mean around the clock. My dad was literally sleeping when the nurse Lizy came in and suggested a sedation medication. I told her no thank you and instead of taking the refusal kindly she pushed further. She wouldn't just take no for an answer on this occasion and when I declined morphine earlier in the evening. Another nurse admitted to giving my dad twice the dose of morphine that she would give me, a woman who outweighs my dad by 50 lbs. Doctors and insurance companies will sell kindred as though it's a privilege. I saw these reviews and thought only angry people leave negative reviews. Take your loved one anywhere but here!!!!!!
After a traumatic brain injury and brain surgery, my mom was transferred here. At first glance it could definitely use some updating appearance wise. I was disappointed with the communication I received or rather didn't receive. But after speaking with the director and head nurse, we got everything squared away and our expectations were heard. We ended up really liking all the staff. There were 4 people who went above and beyond and we truly appreciated all their kindness and hard work. Bree was our nurse most days and we absolutely loved her! The respiratory therapists were REALLY great! Long, Frieddie, and Scott were our favorite! Thank you for making this difficult time in our lives easier.
What a disaster. This is the place where you or your loved one goes when they have Medicare and are too sick to go elsewhere so you have no choice. So here's my advice: If there's no way to avoid it by paying extra money or something, get out of there as fast as you can. The best way to handle Kindred is to make a list of what your loved one must achieve in order to get OUT of there and discuss it EVERY SHIFT with EVERY person who shows up. I hope you live close by! The place has zero medical records apparently, and nobody writes or reads notes. "Do you have a DNR?" Expect to answer this question probably 7 times. If the patient needs something, it is up to YOU to show up every single shift and explain it to the staff...over and over and over, like the movie Groundhog Day. The nurses are polite and sweet but don't appear to read or write notes, don't understand English very well (except the gal from Kenya), are shorthanded, and turn over a LOT so your loved one will probably never have the same nurse again. Your doctor will keep changing and you can't contact him; you have to either luck out and happen to be sitting there when he comes by, or wait for him to call. When our loved one finally got out, they were walking and reading again within 24 hours of leaving Kindred. Is there a bright side? Hmm. Parking is free, and the place isn't very large so it doesn't take much time to get where you're going. And when your loved one is out of there, it's a GREAT feeling.
I would not give them a star. Stay away from this place!!!! This facility is the worst place to have your loved one in.
Kindred was the best. The staff is so friendly especially Celia S. I look forward to coming back soon.
Two days after my sister transferred from west Anaheim, she started crashing. Before she got there she was talking and breathing on oxygen on her own. Two days and her heart stopped twice, then her kidneys failed. It took them a day to put in a catheter for dialysis, and she died while they were doing that.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
