This place is seriously under staffed my daughter has been here since 400pm and it’s 737. Needs stitches and there is only 1 PA. More and more people keep coming in. I don’t understand how you can keep people in the waiting room coughing and sick spreading whatever germs they have. It’s like an Incubator this is the 2nd time I came here and the 2nd time this has happened.. Don’t come here go to PIH OR somewhere else You would die in the waiting room or catch something else

Had to come in to ER. They kept me till all my health issues were addressed. All the ER staff 3rd floor staff wer all wonderful. So caring kind

Doctors and Nurses have been so helpful even the EVS crew on cleaning rooms. I was nervous at first it was my moms first time but from beginning to end they where there to explain and be detailed on everything thank you Whittier hospital medical center now I can come back with no worries.

I went in for kidney pain and they got an xray on my lungs. Never even got a urine sample and then started saying they were checking to make sure I didnt have pneumonia. Well okay sure Ill buy that since Im having back pain. Im then escorted to a waiting area where they sit me next to a covid patient. Umm.. If you think Im having problems with my lungs why are you sitting me next to someone who is obviously sick? They then take me back out to the waiting room and say they will come get me when the doctor is ready. Another hour later a different nurse comes to get me and has me sit beside someone else who is even sicker than the first person. Im getting mad but decide to sit there anyway since the doctor is supposedly coming to see me. Thirty minutes later the nurse walks back up to me and says the doctor will be in shortly to listen to my lungs. I then ask Just curious. Why hasnt anyone taken my urine if Im complaining about kidney pain? She then looks at me funny and replies It says youre here for chest pain and trouble breathing. I never told anyone that. I said I was having deep dull pain in my left flank which Im suspecting may be coming from my kidney. I do not recommend this hospital. I walked out before I could even see the doctor. Still in pain but at least I feel safer not being around all of those idiots. Ill be visiting a different hospital in an entirely different city.

Hi in the past i have been few times in this ER.Last night i went with pain that lasted 3 days scared for not knowing whats going on with me I was in and out in approximately 2hr diagnosed and treated. Thank you to everyone who took care of me from admissionCindy nurse HelenlabsLauraCTRaquel PAKevin and Josephall were so kind and helpful.Outstanding hard working professionals thank you to all the team.

The ER gets busy at times and it does take a while sometimes a few hours before you get seen but all the nurses on the telemetry floor are super patient helpful and nice. They try to help you to the best of their abilities. I’ve been here twice now and I can’t even count all the nurses that I’m grateful to for helping me take care of my mom especially since they’re understaffed and working in such circumstances with covid and all. Sometimes it takes them time to get to you but a tip to get connected with your nurse in charge is to call them directly on their extension line. The doctors here also address your concerns and will try their best to treat you.PS the receptionists in the ER are stand offishrude like they don’t want to be there but once you get through them the nurses in the ER are more patientattentive.

DO NOT recommend this place for postpartum or baby care. I delivered at this hospital nurses were kinda and helpful at the labor and delivery Dpt but once I got transferred to postpartum nurses do not know the meaning of respect or being kind to a newborn and a mother who just delivered.

My uncle admitted himself to this hospital when he got COVID19 in late January 2021. He grew weaker everyday because he was neglected by the staff here. No one came to check on him or give him water and food. When he finally got visitors maybe a month later the doctors told them that maybe we should “let him go”. They put him on a ventilator so early on and tied his arms and legs so tight. They don’t care about their patients and didn’t want to treat him any longer.

I was very disappointed here at my last visit. Me n my family had to get emergency service outside that was there waiting room. My service was all over the place the vending machine werent even up n running so couldnt get water. Got there at 4pm n my other 2 family members got to go home after being treated. Finally around 10pm n I was admitted into hospital car. In my room i was left with no way to contact my nurse. She never offered the tv access that was in my room never gave me socks. Took forever to get sum water then when I did it was 1 little cup. Then when I needed help I had to yell her name Emily for about 20 mins which she finally came n told me to not call for her unless Ive fallen down or i was in extreme pain. I was so surprised. Then the doctor came asked me 4 questions left n never spoke or saw me again. The nurse came n told me I was going to get 2 types of antibiotics n for me to just rest. Then I tried to rest but they had a very bright light on the whole time n I woke up to my IV burning so I called for my nurse she never came I ended up crying n screaming for anyone to come n finally a gentleman came n assisted me n gave me comfort adding a bag of saline solution along with my IV drip. I was relieved. But I wouldnt recommend anyone I cared about to go here. My morning nurse was great but thank got I got shipped 2 white memorial. A horrible experience here.

My family member was transferred from a city hospital ICU . He was placed on a ventilator. For 12 HOURS NO assessment was done by either the admitting nurse nor by the attending physician nor physician on call. His feeding not started he got hypoglycemic no meds nor care given . Is this Whittier Hospital policy in admitting transfers? TOTAL NEGLIGENCE AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY? Accreditation for Hospitals and Joint Commissions will be soon visiting you.
