Christian Gastelum's Online Review Report Card

I read on healthgrade such wonderful reviews about this doctor, but neither he or his office staff reflected the reviews. The staff is not friendly, they seemed completely unorganized especially when I was done with my appointment. Very incompetent. When I called to make my appointment I went into great detail about what I was looking for in a specialist, did NOT get what I was looking for at all!!They called me back to a room where I sat for over 30 minutes waiting for the doctor. Overall he was 45 minutes behind. I am returning next week for results to the bloodwork that was done, it will be my last visit. Also, they hound you to death confirming your appointment. I was called THREE (3) different times to confirm my first appointment. They have called twice so far to confirm my second appointment. Once last night, automated call, then first thing again this morning a person called. It's just ridiculous, go somewhere else!

Dr. Gastelum is a great dr. I’ve seen other Drs for my diabetes and all I did was get sicker. I went back to Gastelum and I feel a lot better.

When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes he was amazing that was 5 yrs ago, we still drive all the way from Simi Valley to see him.

Iv been diabetic over 20 years now .... been to lots of endocrinologists But I hit the gold when I found Dr. Gastelum my husband been and I go to him sooooo start understands how diabetes works

For thyroid issues, he helped during, and all follow-up after, my total thyroidectomy a few years ago. Explained things fairly well, felt like he listened to me, and overall I liked him as a dr. But it now takes 3 to 6 months to get an appointment. Wait time in the office has also increased, last time I saw him I was in there for over an hour for only a few minutes of his time. When I had an issue that needed attention, he wasn't available for months, so I went with the other endo in the office, didn't care for him too much. Not worth the wait and frustration.

Dr. Gastelum has brought my diabetes condition under control. He knows the medicines people need.

He has managed my medical issues. Well.The office staff is poorly managed. Impossible to get messages and responses to him. I have waited on hold for over an hour when trying to make an appointment or to get a message to him. There are problems with follow through.While I trust his medical advice I find office staff impossible to deal with.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gastelum for a number of years. He is an excellent endo, but his office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I spend more time on the phone with them and my pharmacy trying to get my prescriptions correct than anything else (other than having to wait a long time for my appointments without ever hearing an apology for being late, which is another gripe, if you make an appointment, it should not take 45 minutes to see a doctor. That is unacceptable.) They just can't seem to get prescriptions right, and then I spend all my time calling between the pharmacy and his office to try and get it correct. This has been going on for several years. I am seriously considering finding another doctor because of these frustrations. I give a 2 star because of Dr. Gastelum give the office zero if I could.

I have been under the care of Dr. Gastelum and this man literally saved my life!!, when I came to see the Dr. , I was obese, prediabetic, one minute away from taking medication for high blood pressure, amongst other minor thing's, I had tried for years to get my weight under control with ,you name it, but knew I needed the help of nor a diet Dr. ,but that of an Endocrinologist, I did my homework and having worked in the medical field before came to the best, yes the best, " Dr. Christian Gastelum " , because of his expertise in his field of practice " ALL " my medical issues have been resolved including my obesity 👍😊, so thank you Dr. Gastelum and also to your team of medical assistants, who are always professional, curious, and helpful

The staff are not answering the calls. I was on hold for more than one hour and they hang up on me. Very disappointed.
