List of George Flugrad's Reviews
THE worst experience in any medical related office in my entire life! Please know your insurance plan before going to this office. This review is not related to Mr. Flugrad because he did the job required, it's about the staff that works there and their shady billing practices.I found his office when I checked for in network dentists close to my area. I know my insurance plan's copays and what I'd be billed out of pocket so during my initial visit for a consultation, I was billed for an office visit and a set of x rays. I kept asking the girl in charge of billing why I was being charged for a visit but she kept repeating herself, saying every office does it while holding a hand-held credit card machine to process my payment. The x rays were totally unnecessary as they knew I needed two wisdom teeth pulled and they simply could have looked at those images that were taken about a week before my visit to Mr. Flugrad from my regular dentist but they insisted that other types of x rays were needed. This was just another way to make your cost higher if insurance didn't cover that portion but these types of x rays are covered only once every two years under normal insurance plans but this is besides the point. Before I left, I asked another employee who claims he's a doctor why I was charged for an office visit and if there'd be any other fees for when I came back for the wisdom teeth removal. He said I would be charged another office visit fee. Later that day, I called my insurance plan to verify my suspicions and they basically said I wasn't supposed to be charged an office visit fee and shouldn't be charged one for when I go back. I was actually on hold when my insurance plan called Mr. Flugrad's office and told them I wasn't supposed to be charged these fees. I went back for my wisdom teeth removal and he did the job as expected. I was told that I needed to go for a follow-up visit a week later to make sure everything healed properly. During the follow-up, the girl came in with the credit card machine to bill me for the office visit and I told her to call my insurance company and how I was told that I didn't owe any office visit fees along with their office being told the same thing. She wouldn't leave the room and insisted that I owed the fee, where I kept telling her my insurance already called their office but it was becoming argumentative where even repeating myself three times wasn't effective. She wouldn't leave the room so I told her to cancel the appointment as I walked out. I called my insurance plan immediately after leaving and the woman on the phone was more angry than I was, stating that I wasn't supposed to be charged those fees. She called Mr. Flugrad's office again and told them the situation and about a month later, I was sent a check for the office visit fee I paid.If you've read this review, you should know your insurance plan, what your copays and deductibles are, if there are any limits on specific services, and what the difference is between an in network and out of network medical provider for any type of medical related visit. Mr. Flugrad himself is a guy that liked to joke around a little too much but is generally a nice guy. The office's shady billing practice are why I never went back nor would ever recommend this office to anyone. If you see all of the exceptional comments, most must be fake especially from the people with one or two total reviews. Anyone driving 50 minutes to be billed imaginary copays or fees needs to have their head examined.
This place is horrible. I was referred to them by my dentist. Dr. Flugard was suppose to extract several teeth in one visit. This doctor only completed half of the procedure and overcharged me for things he never submitted to the insurance.. I still have fragments in my gum from the teeth is already extracted. When 8 contacted the office, the office manager, who is also the dentist's son, canceled my appointment. Stay a way from this place. It screams insurance fraud!!. And all the equipment is dated and rusty.
Such a great doctor. From the moment I walked into the office felt like everyone was welcoming. The doctor showed that he has great knowledge in cosmetics which made me feel very at ease. Would definitely recommend.
All the staff at Dr. Flugrad's office including himself are very pleasant and down to earth. They do amazing work and make you feel extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend Raritan Bay Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Went in for extractions and now I Can't wait to get work done to clear my problematic skin.

Almost died. (they keep deleting my review on google)Read entire story: Went for implant, a few days later my face/neck swelled up (i've gotten other implants here and this never happened). I had a giant lump under throat and my jaw was locked. Went to office to check it out. They didn't do any xrays just looked and said you're fine just ice it and take the antibiotics. That night I end up in the emergency room with swelling tongue, closing airway and two sacs of fluid with a fever of 102 and racing heart. They did a blood test and found a serious infection then did a CT scan to locate the abscess which was in my jaw area by the implant. I get sent by ambulance to Overlook in Summit where I a there four days of pain and "soft food diet" (was initially NPO). The doctors there said it was the abscess by the implant and said the implant was too close to the nerve (they showed me the xray and remember this part cuz it the story better). The doctors there decided not to drain it because I was responding well to the antibiotics they gave me. I get discharge and go the next morning back to Dr. Flugrads office and they already know I was at hospital. Everyone there is like oh you're fine ( didnt even do an xray like I told them Overlook said I had to do) and I go home. I come back when a bubble starts forming in that area on top this past friday, and again I'm told that its nothing (with no xray) and Dr. Nick (his son) sits with me for 15 mins trying to convince me that the CT scan wasn't even necessary. I recapped what I went through and he says two things that pissed me off, that "Dr. Flugrad doesnt have a crystal ball and isnt a mind reader". I almost died and told them all the details so no shit he doesnt have a crystal ball I came to see a DOCTOR not a PSYCHIC!So for the "good" part": I left that day (friday) very upset and came back today (my actual appointment day) and everyones trying to be "nice" after my email that recapped everything I'm telling you now. They do an xray (FINALLY) and guess the fuck what? I look at it like huh.....that doenst look like the one I saw at Overlook, I KNOW thats not an xray for my left side because one of the the implants in my left side is actually at an angle from what I remember (from the overlook hospital xray I saw)Anyway, they said they would put topical numbing cream on the area and cut it open to drain it but that I need to sign first. I said I'm not signing anything at this point. She said "then you're refusing treatment" I said, ok, paper only and it needs to specify that its ONLY for the topical and cut to drain. she gets upset and brings a paper copy. Guess what they tried to get me to sign? SOMETHING THAT MAKES THEM NOT LIABLE FOR NERVE DAMAGE OF THE IMPLANT amongst other things. I said you know what I'll take this paper and read it myself and come back when/if I sign. SHE TRIED TO TAKE IT FROM MY HAND saying I'm just doing my job.so the "good part"she had showed me the xray right. I leave the office just now, guess what Overlook sent me? The xray that they took, and guess what it doesnt look like? THE XRAY THEY SHOWED ME TODAY. Why? cuz the other implant is at an angle, the implant that I'm looking at right now directly from Overlook Hospital is sitting like right on the nerve.I ALMOST FUCKING DIED AND YOU'RE TRYING TO JUST TAKE THE FUCKING BLAME OFF OF YOU? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? INSTEAD OF JUST MAKING SURE I WONT STILL DIE FROM A FUCKING INFECTION OR JUST TAKE THE DAMN THING OUT.even after the hospital I was still super nice to everyone and all I was asking was to make sure my jaw is ok and the only thing they've done is sit me down and try to convince me that I didn't have an abscess, that I was fine (without even taking an x-ray or anything), and that all my symptoms were from other things.Thank God I was recording everything. I apologize for all the cursing, I am absolutely livid.what bothers me the most is that they never even tried to fix it. They kept going around it, avoiding an xray then showing me one of my right side (the side that is fine) instead of the left like I'm some idiot. Its appalling that someone is in this profession that knowingly acted this way. Dr. Flugrad himself has not apologized to me or said anything, instead they all conspired to keep me in the dark about what he did. It's messed up.
Awesome job, super friendly and welcoming. Made me feel calm about the procedure. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!!!
Dr. Flugrad and his staff provided excellent service and were very informative and comforting for my wisdom removal. I would highly recommend this place for related surgeries
Called got me in right away . Did a great job with great staff. Would recommend to anyone!!
I loved everything about this business. From the moment I came in they made me feel comfortable, safe, and less anxious. My procedure was nothing like I expected- in a good way. The staff is friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. There is nothing bad I can say about my visits here. I would recommend them to everyone- they are truly the definition of caring and knowledgeable health care workers.
