Bernard Gary Do's Online Review Report Card

He put me on his own compounded thyroid med forcing me to pay $60/mo for years when my lab work clearly showed that I was in the normal range. Now I feel cold all the time and my thyroid and metabolism are all screwed up. How does he manage to keep this medical license?

I suppose if I were an uptight unfriendly kinda person I would wait for long periods of time to be seen but it's never happened to me. Everyone there is very friendly! Dr.Bernard is brutally honest. This is so rare! You aren't gonna know what to say. Maybe offended. If you set your feeling side and put it your pacifier back in you may be able to accept it. I'm currently taking care of my 90 year old grandfather. He was very lethargic and couldn't move and continued to pass out. His doctor's kept saying it was his age. I'd had enough. I called Dr.B and they saw him that day. They did blood work and Dr.B listened carefully. He prescribed him a few things he thought might help. On our way out HE called and said come back immediately. He told me to take him to the hospital ASAP because he was bleeding from inside somewhere. He told me to not let them give less than 3 units of blood. He literally saved the life of a healthy 90 year old man who's not ready to go yet!! My pops made me take him back the day he got out of the hospital so he could shake his hand and tell him thank you. I don't care what these negative reviewers say because they're probably miserable people to begin with! I love him. He is amazing and ALWAYS friendly and never rushes me. I've spent an hour and a half in a visit with him only because he saw I was going through something and continued to pry until I spoke. He cares. If I had to wait hours to see him I would without complaint because he'd be spending the time with another patient that may truly just need to be heard. It would do everyone a great service in life if we all considered the whole picture instead of only ourselves.

BEST Dr ever! Dr Bernard was my last hope. After seeing several other Dr.s who didn’t seem to understand me or hear me, I finally found the best one yet! He was so knowledgeable about menopause symptoms and treatments. He validated my feelings and heard my concerns. Took time with me, didn’t rush me, or brush me off at all First time any Dr really sat down with me and explained menopause and all it entails. I feel extremely grateful and hopeful now. I’m more confident that I won’t have to live in misery from menopause anymore and I can start to enjoy my life again. Thank you sooo much Dr. Bernard! If you need a menopause doctor, he is your guy!!!!

This Doctor may be different than most by far however he has turned my life around. I am a strong character but guess what he knows his business. He is quick, deliberate and smart period. You may not like what he tells you. Listen ..try....he is actually brilliant. He listened to me I quit smoking because of his care. My thyroid is better, my life is better, my energy is up, my spirits are up and I am healthier and feeling my best at 61 than I ever have!. I had to learn to adjust to his style but I am grateful for how he changed my life. My hormones were so empty...no other doctor caught that. If you want to feel life again MAKE AN APPT. Some people are so inpatient ...he is worth the wait..He is hip and purely honest. Shell shocked by him means nothing I accept who he is because what he has done for me...period gave me my life back!

This is the worst, most unprofessional group of people I've ever had to deal with. Dr Bernard is constantly trying to sell you his concoctions from his pharmacy. He doesn't pay attention when you speak to him, he always goes back to whatever concoction he can sell you to treat whatever you're there for. If your appt is at 9:15, you might be out of there by 11:30, very long waiting time, they have no concern or respect for your time, nor will you ever hear them apologize for making you wait so long. They have a patient portal that you can make requests through that no one monitors or responds. If you email them with a request, they don't respond, I've emailed numerous times this week trying to get them to fax in a prescription for a mammogram and ultrasound, nothing. I'm also waiting for them to increase my thyroid meds, nothing. Four times this week alone, they don't respond. I'm done, I've already made an appoint with another doctor to be my PCP UPDATE They finally responded after numerous emails to 4 different people in that office and still not all of my questions were answered. The review below was surely done by someone in his office because it is, by far, the exact opposite.

I’ve seen Dr B for 4 or 5 years and I’ll not stop because he’s the most knowledgeable and helpful doctor I’ve ever been to. Once when I questioned him about a medication he told me that he reads about medicines and weight loss 2 hours a day. Yes I usually have to wait 30-60 minutes for appointments and it’s worth it even if it’s longer. As for complaints about the cost of medications. I’m sure those other people were offered their Live Well Meds Insurance which saves you a ton of money. That includes hormones. It’s $25 a month. I believe people who just can’t be pleased and maybe the relatives and close friends of other doctors are putting horrible reviews on here. Dr B is to the point but he’s never been rude to me. And it’s not because I’m rich or beautiful. I’m not. If you feel he didn’t spend enough time with you, maybe you forgot that when you made your appt they asked what you need to see him for and they make it for the time you need.

It was amazing to find a doctor that listens to me. I have had so many issues with my reproductive system sense I hit puberty and all I ever heard was that it’s what happens when you are a women. He never once said that to me and gave me an endometrial ablation. It was the best decision of my life and I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. I had missed work over the years due to the pain and for the first time I don’t have to worry. Thank you doctor Bernard! You are a hero.

This is a horrible place to go. Staff is very unprofessional and it takes hours to be seen only to speak with the doctor for 1 minute. It's impossible to get a call back let alone someone on the phone. Once again HORRIBLE PLACE.

I was a first time visit for Dr. Bernard about 2 weeks ago. My appointment was at 1230 i was not seen till about 2ish. I was already annoyed because they had my name and insurance all messed up in their system. When i finally got back to see him. Him and his assistant was in his office but neither one of them introduced them self to me. I thought that was odd. Then i tried to talk to him about the reason i was there. He acted like contiguous even though i was NOT CONTIGUOUS . He did not help me with my reason i went to him. While he was talking with me he had me in tears and not once DID HE WASH HIS HANDS.. that alone is completely gross. Not only did he not wash his hands he was eating his lunch while talking to me. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK EVER.

I had high cholesterol my whole life. He said I have high cholesterol because I’m under birth control. Lies! Because I was under birth control for 6 months. He put me on hormones medicine. I saw him 2 only. They charge insurance every month for this treatment. He never prescribe me medicine for my cholesterol. When I talked to him for second time, he said he forgot to order the sample blood test for my cholesterol and next time he’ll do it. Next time was no next time. I felt like going each month for a shot and nothing else. According to his lab work my hormones was low. Who knows if they change lab results numbers at their own lab room because it’s a in-house doctor. It took me hours to communicate with someone in there to speak about my prescription. I talked to so many people and they transferred calls instead of resolve the problem. Everyone is useless because they just transfer the call. Time waiting is horrible at Orange Park. At the beaches is less waiting. Dr Bernard talks to you fast and rush you out of his office. He doesn’t ask you questions and listen. He cuts your off and walks out talking and at the end you are out of the office. I changed doctors and I’m happy where I’m at. I just waste time and money with dr. Bernard.
