Dr Purewal is knowledgeable and well diversed in his practice. I was impressed by his bed side manner and plans to achieve my weight loss goals!
I met him today to establish care leaving kaiser after 25 years. I loved the one on one time he spent with me and addressing my needs. He is open late hours and on weekends ! Unheard of!
Appears to be so caring!
I started going to see Dr. Purewal when he had a practice in Madera Ranchos. He is so very concerned with listens to his patients concern, and will not hesitate to refer you to a specialist when needed. He has never made me feel rushed in the eight years I have seen him. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a primary care physician. He also treated my grandchildren
I recently turned 65 and went on to Medicare. My insurance broker, will not name, steered me into the Blue Cross Medicare 65+ HMO ---> BIG MISTAKE. That HMO deserves a stand alone review but for now suffice it to say AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!When I went on to the Blue Cross HMO program I called a lot of MDs listed on the Blue Cross website. I found many of them don't answer their phones - just ask you to leave a message. Most of the one's that did answer the phone either were not taking new patients or did not accept that plan. Since Dr. Purewal's number was on the Blue Cross card I was issued I called his office and scheduled my physical.Their office is on Bullard Ave in Clovis so not super convenient for me since I'm in the Fig Garden area. The building itself looks like it was built in the 80's, but that's just a guess. I've been with Kaiser for the better part of 30 years so I'm used to very modern facilities. This is not Kaiser quality by any means, but its not third world either: it's an older, dated facility, rather drab. The waiting room had a fair share of patients in it on my first and subsequent visits and the girls running the reception desk are kept busy. They were and have always been very courteous, kind, and helpful. My first impression of Dr. Purewal was favorable. He's quite, soft spoken, and listens to what you have to say. I like him and would consider keeping his as my PCP but I prefer to have one closer to where I live in more updated facility. I think I have had three appointments with him in total and really can't say anything negative about him. He is a Sikh, wears his turban, and has a beard. I have several Sikh friends/acquaintances that I've done business with and have found them, for the most part, to be very dignified and honest people.I am going to give 3 stars because I feel as though I'm not just grading Dr. Purewal alone but rather the entire practice, including the office personnel and facilities.I will mention one particular incident that did not sit well with me. On one visit I was given a cup (with my name on it) and asked to give a urine sample. I was pointed to a bathroom to use and that was it: no instructions on what to do with the cup when I was done and no receptacle in the bathroom for the cup. It was kind of awkward. As it turned out, I KNEW that on the other side of the office, near where you enter, there's a bathroom with a receptacle for samples. So, instead of using the restroom I was directed to I went to the other one.One more thing. If you're going to use this medical office acquaint yourself with the office girls who take care of the work. When you need your prescriptions filled ask for Melisa. When you need to have a referral sent over to another Dr. ask for Marcie (Marcy). These gals are VERY helpful.
This quack of a so-called "doctor" is nothibg more then a cattle call BUTCHER!He does open heart surgery on patients without even reviewing their medical record. He has done open heart surgery on a patient who didnt even need SURGERY!!!!!Don't let your loved one get butchered by this "doctor"
I have only been to this Dr. one time. I was amazed at the time that he spent with me. I have never had such a thorough physical in my life. He was easy to talk to and seemed to be interested in addressing all of my concerns. I am very comfortable with this Dr. and will continue to see him.
Dr. Purewal was very patient with me as I talked through the issues I was experiencing. He asked me a lot of questions, which was very new for me as my docs in the past have typically been quick to reach conclusions and ready to move to their next patient. I also appreciated Dr. Ps holistic approach and his attention to my general well being.
