Dr. Paul Wang and his late father (Dr. Peter Wang) before him have treated my four kids for over 16 years. They have always been welcoming, willing to listen and available when we needed to schedule an appointment on short notice.

Dr. Paul Wang is patient and thoughtful during examination and conservative with his treatments which we appreciate. I see negative comments regarding his staff, but I've never encountered any issues. His mother still works in his office. To some she might be hard to understand with a heavy Chinese accent, but she's kind, thorough and knowledgeable.

The office is not fancy or high tech, but what matters the most to us is his treatment of our family. The primary sadness for us is that we are about to "age out" of pediatrics! Thank you Dr. Wang and staff!
We met with Dr. Wang for the first time yesterday. He is a very thorough and knowledgeable physician. His front office staff are very sweet and even offered us water on our way out as it was hot. Dr. Wang is very personable and we are so excited to have him as our new pediatrician.
The lack of five stars is not because of Dr. Wang. Dr. Wong is a great pediatrician and he does a great job. The lack of five stars is due to his front office staff. Unfortunately that's who you talk to when you call and who you have to deal with when you go into his office. They lack professionalism, class, and they just are not friendly.
What a shame and how embarrassing for Dr. Wang. I called to be set up as a new patient for my little one and had some questions. Unfortunately, the young lady that answered rudely cut me off and was not helpful at all. Called back to get more info and another woman answered and seemed to care less and in a rush to hang up. It's very strange and I have never been treated so poorly by a medical office. Seems everyone has the same problem with front office staff and NOT the doctor. Dr came recommended by my OB but after this experience over the phone, I will definitely not be going in to this office.
It saddens me to leave such a terrible review about a Dr. who I have spoken so highly of since my children's birth. My three children who are 11,11, & 9 have all been in the care of Dr. Wang since birth and we originally crossed paths because he was the pediatrician making rounds at Mercy San Juan after the birth of my twins. I loved him from day one and was so happy to find that was accepting new patients. This review has nothing to do the the doctor himself and everything to do with his front desk staff! I will spare you the details and drama but can say that I am absolutely appalled by the treatment I have received by the receptionist and office manager! I have reached out numerous times to try and speak directly with the doctor about my concerns and have been denied any access whatsoever. I sit here and wonder if he has any idea how poorly his office staff is treating patients and parents? As a last resort, I'm hopeful that Dr. Wang personally monitors his yelp reviews and will reach out to me directly to discuss. Samantha 916.223.3246
I'm so torn about this office. I absolutely love Dr. Wang and his MA. They are kind, gentle people that clearly care about the children. The 2 of them are always quick with a smile and a lollipop. The shots are fast and they try the best they can to distract. They also are very accommodating and welcoming.
The front desk woman is a completely different story. She is rude, unhelpful, the first to say no to obvious questions she is not educated enough to answer and disrespectful.
She clearly does not care about the actual needs of the patients and their families. I'm very disappointed that such a nice, kind physician and MA would employ such an uncaring person.
Dr. Paul Wang is a great pediatrician to my two daughters. I highly recommend him. He takes the time to answer all my questions, returns calls, and has a gentle touch with the little ones.
The best decision I made was choosing Dr Wang for my kids pediatrician. He is so assertive to the kids needs. I have never met a doctor that took time out of his day to call me and leave me a message to see how the kids are doing if there were not feeling well and just following up. He even took the time to check on the kids when they were born in the hospital. He truly is an amazing doctor.
This will be my first poor yelp review. We just moved from Huntington Beach and are looking for a new pediatrician. I called Sutter hospital's labor & delivery unit and Dr. Paul Wang was highly recommended. When I called his office to ask if he was taking new patients, the secretary with a thick accent informed me that they are very busy and not accepting new patients. This is a common practice and understandable. I informed her that we have blue shield ppo and asked if she could recommend any other practices because I have two children under two and need to keep them on schedule with their vaccinations. Before I finished my sentence she loudly sighed and hung up on me. When I called back thinking this must be a mistake she hung up on me again. Dr. Wang could be the best doctor in the world, but I would never give my money to a doctor that employs people that hang up on someone seeking medical assistance.
Best pediatrician in this world. He genuinely cares. My daughter has been having stomach issues for more than a week. Dr Wang has been calling me ever day to check on her. Sometimes I called him twice but he was never irritated and always wiling to help. I am a patient for life and hopefully my grandkids sees him too which might be 30 years from now. Thankyou Dr Wang
Dr. Paul Wang is a great doctor who I would highly recommend to family & friends.

His office staff? A whole other story. Olivia is the rudest office employee I have ever had to deal with. I have worked retail management customer service my entire career and would never speak to customers the way she spoke to me today.
She definitely needs customer service & phone etiquette training. Her mistake should never be pushed onto a patient especially a new mother.

Because of her actions, I am still deciding if my two children will be returning to this office. Sad we lost a great doctor because of her lack of skills.
Wow what a ridicules office! I called to set up my son as a new patient. She chinese lady picked up and said we dont accept new patients we are full. I told her i called yesterday and was told they do. She said what insurance you have i tell her anthem she goes we only take newborn wait till next year what the hell!? How do you turn down a child that needs shots this year. Ill never recommend them.
Wonderful doctor. I have never had an issue with him or getting in to see him. The front office staff, however, are hands down the rudest people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. We have not received a bill in over a year. We have, however, been inappropriately confronted (I'm talking borderline yelling) in the office in front of other patients AND my children on more than one occasion within the year. If you do not receive a bill (because they admittedly didn't send one) and you don't pay it (apparently you should know what you owe after insurance), they will consider it late. I made a specific trip in to pay cash once to make sure I never had to endure the humiliation of being yelled at in front of other patients ever again. My payment was not late, but I brought $200 in and they gave me a receipt for $112 (what I owed). No change given and it took 30 minutes to get them to agree to give me a receipt for $200. This last time I was handed a bill for my daughter's last appointment and also one for my son. At my daughter's last appointment I had asked for a refill for a medication for my son. He never had an appointment. It was something I could have requested over the phone. I was so frustrated I sat down and apologized to my children, telling them I think we may need to find a new pediatrician. I was then told that they will fix my billing problem but we needed to get out and never return (before we were even seen). I'm sorry to be leaving the care of Dr. Wang, but it's a sweet good riddance of his staff.
Dr. Wang is the most compassionate; caring, honest Doctor I have ever met. I have had health problems myself for 15+years(half life) and never met a doctor that is remotely close to the caliber of doctor that Dr. Wang is.He has gone up and beyond from the moment we met him. Calling unannounced on his own time to follow up on our children's illness, multiple times. He answers any questions you may have; even answering brief maternity questions as my wife trusted his opinion much for then her delivering doctor.

He is fantastic with our 3 yr old and newborn. He handles them as if they were his own. We recently were having to change our insurance and our priority of the policy change was to ensure our children got to stay within his practice. He is an independent doctor and the only physician that you will see.

He has never cancelled or moved an appointment and has even fit our children in same day if he deems it necessary.

If he is taking on new clients(I cannot believe he wouldn't be full) and you are looking for a pediatrician; I would recommend Dr. Wang without any hesitation and I say this knowing what great care your child will receive from him. He is a true rare gem in the ever changing medical world.

I look forward the the years ahead and sleep much better having a diagnosis from his when our children have an illness. We appreciate him very much!

Thank you, Doctor.
The dr himself is amazing, his office staff is something else. After a misunderstanding regarding a payment we were discharged as patients and when I asked to speak with the dr or a manager to figure it out I was told that wasn't how it worked and no one would be calling me back.

Part of care is working through Misunderstandings. His staff is young and has zero customer service skills. He was the dr for both of my children from birth and to not offer a return call was completely mind blowing.
I have nothing but praise for Dr. Wang! He is so kind, gentle, and patient. He always takes the time to answer my questions and my daughter has always been very warm to him. I really wish he could be my primary Doctor. :)
We met Dr. Wang at Mercy San Juan when our youngest daughter was born. He has unparalleled bedside manner. He is a gentle, kind, patient Doctor. I am so glad we chose to continue our daughters care with his practice.
Went to see Dr. For our newborn visit, unsure if we were going to stay. After the visit both my husband and I were so impressed we wanted to bring both of our children there. Dr. Accepted both of my children into the practice. After we had an inoffice procedure done on a Friday, Dr. Wang took the time to call us on Saturday to check on our son! A++!! I was so impressed at his thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Absolutely amazing!
Wonderful doctor! Patient, kind, understanding and very accommodating. I would recommend Dr. Wang to anyone with children. It runs in the family, Dr.Peter Wang was my pediatricion and he was the greatest.
If I could give more stars I would!!! He is exactly what a doctor should be......honest, trustworthy, patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, and conducts his business with an infectious smile! All 3 of my kids are under his care! They also like visiting him.......It's never a scary doctor visit. As parents, we appreciate all his qualities and most of all his follow ups and genuine concern. Thank you Dr. Wang for being a great example for the medical industry.
