Dr. Gholami is not only a terrible doctor he fraudulently billed me multiple times. I went to see him for left sided kidney pain and blood in my urine. We discussed the side of my pain, left, and even tapped on my left flank causing pain. I had an MRI study done that he said demonstrated a kidney stone of 2mm. and although small he recommended surgery to remove it. I had not seen the report and found out that the kidney stone was in my right kidney and not the left! He was going to do surgery on a kidney without symptoms! I called up and said I was cancelling the surgery due to he was doing surgery on the wrong kidney. They said I needed to come back in. I said I would not pay for my copay to come in and cancel a surgery for the wrong kidney. I was not charged. At that visit he accused me of lying about which kidney hurt. Seriously I think I know where my own pain it. He then looked at my MRI in the public hallway and said my pain was from "poop" backed up in my intestine. This gets more disconcerting. I was then billed numerous times for the $30 copay and I told them why I wasn't paying it. I was sent to collection. It gets worse. He also prescribed a medication on my allergy list and I had a reaction to it. It get worse. I looked at my insurance explanation of benefits statements and found out he fraudulently billed me for the appointments more than once. I was charged for 40 min. one on one appointments when no more than 5 mins. was spent with me not once but twice using the billing code 99215. This is impossible as he appointment are not spaced 40 min. apart. I called my insurance to report this fraudulent billing and was told I had to report it to the CA board of Medicine. That has been done. All in all a very bad experience with an incompetent and dishonest doctor.
Excellent doctor, but communication, billing and appointment systems are from 15 years ago. But the knowledge and skill is top-notch.
Dr Gholami told me my prostate was hard my PSA was 2.7, Dr Gholami said I needed a biopsy. Dr Gholami did a biopsy and said I need prostate surgery. I went to three other Urologists each said my prostate was not hard and based on my biopsy and PSA of 2.75 I did not need surgery. I had a second biopsy from Stanford two years later all 12 samples came back benign. It has been almost 5 years. I test every six months. My prostate is not hard and my PSA is 2.75 3.25 I almost let this guy operate on me. Fortunately for me I read negative reviews about Dr Gholami and got other opinions. You should get opinions from other doctors before you let Dr Gholami operate on you. When I asked him about sexual side effects of prostate surgery he held out his hands and said In my hands you will not have those problems I now know several people who had their prostate removed by Gholami and they all have that problem. You Need To Get Another Opinion.
Get another opinion after he tells you that you need prostate surgery. No operate No Money he is going to tell you you need surgery and try to schedule you quickly to keep you form getting other opinions.
I have always been treated kindly and my questions answered quickly and politely
Absolutely trust this man with my life... yes I mean that whole heartedly..
His staff is very friendly. Dr.Gholami explains everything so you clearly understand everything that is going to happen. I was concerned with rumors of pain and discomfort and horror stories from friends that had procedures done by other doctors. Rest assured that Dr. GHOLAMI is the best. The procedure went smoothly and the recovery was painless. None of the stories i heard happened. I strongly recommend this doctor and his staff. They are absolutely amazing.
Dr Gholami has cared for me with prostate issues including surgery for 15 years. I have utmost confidence in him.
Extremely capable and takes time to explain one's case, with a very professional staff. I strongly recommend him.
Very personable. Detailed care. I certainly don't feel like a number with Dr. Gholami.
All of my experiences with Dr. Gholami have been wonderful.
Whelp, it has been ten full years since Dr. Shahram S. Gholami performed a radical prostatectomy on me in October 2009. At the time I was freakingout, scared over my cancer diagnosis!! Thankfully, my life was in the hands of a consummate professional surgeon. Dr. Gholami performed the surgery via stateofthearts Davinci Robotically and my PSA has been (and still is) infinitesimally low since November 2009.
Dr. Gholami performed a varicocele repair surgery on me. He said within 3 months the varicocele would go away within 3 months after the surgery. It's been 5 months and I still have the varicocele. Not a skilled surgeon at all!
I wish I could give him 0 stars. He was so rushed and dint even listen to my questions which I have. he just came in for 3 minutes and half of the time spoke to his assistant and dint even clearly say what was my problem and went away. When I ask his assistant she said we need a followup of 365$ more where we can answer your questions. He charged me 45+ minutes and 365$ to my insurance just for a 3 min consultation. Never go to this doctor if you want some answers. I just wasted my money with no answers. Doctors are meant to be not rushed and listen to patients questions.
Dr. Gholami is the best doctor I have ever had. Knowledgeable personable and thorough.
The best Doctor
My general experience has been very positive. He is straightforward with telling you, the patient, what he thinks and plans to do. He does not mince words and is willing to be direct with you.
During one’s lifetime there are people that come and go in your sphere that can, and do, make a difference in your wellbeing. It has been my experience that Doctor Gholami is one of those people. I have been a patient of Doctor Gholami for a number of years and I can greatly recommend him. Doctor Gholami is an extremely focused, attentive and professional physician who puts your best interest foremost. I am most thankful for his expertise and care.
