Jonathan A. Godin Md's Online Review Report Card

I had 2 surgeries with Dr. Godin within the last 12 months. Given his glowing online reviews and the reputation of the Steadman Clinic, I trusted that I was receiving top notch care. After my second surgery (a peroneal nerve release), I was in unbearable pain, worse than prior to surgery. Additionally, my entire lateral leg was completely numb, which was not the case pre-surgery. Months later I got a second opinion from a nerve expert, who recommended revision. The revision surgery was supposed to be 90 minutes - it ended up taking 4 hours. My lateral cutaneous nerve appeared to have been cut by Dr. Godin's team, resulting in a neuroma. This is an irreversible nerve injury; I will never have sensation in my lateral leg again. Also he found that my peroneal nerve was 'split' above my knee, which doesn’t occur naturally and is likely also a result of surgery at the SC. Couldn’t be more regretful of trusting Dr. Godin’s team with my care; for nerve related procedures, look elsewhere.

The absolute best surgeon I have ever come across. Everyone Dr. Godin works with is top tier. Did such a great job on my pec reattachment that I am currently 1 month ahead of general recovery time.

My, how I do appreciate and love my new total, reverse shoulder replacement that Jonathan and his team did on me. First of all, just getting the appointment and quick surgery at the Vail clinic was astounding. The entire procedure was almost painless and I have as yet to take a single pill or pain relief medicine. Jonathan, keep up your friendly and positive attitude as it is most reassuring. Dr. Godin and his team of professionals are absolutely amazing. From bedside manner to professionalism, they seriously blow any other surgeon I've had out of the water. My scars have healed better than any and I knew exactly what I was in for going in and my recoveries have been successful thanks to the support and kindness of his team. I broke my collar bone during my last ski run at Vail in February 2022 and went to Vail Health. Dr. Godin and his excellent team did the x-rays for the break, CT scan for the concussion, and performed the surgery where they installed a titanium plate and screws. I was back at the condo in bed within 6 hours of arrival. Efficient, professional, courteous, and fun at times is how I remember each member of the team. I am winding down the PT now after 5 months, have full range of motion in my shoulder, and am planning next year's western ski trips.

Reverse shoulder replacement sounds science fiction but it's real and it helped my husbands ability to use his arm again. Surgery day was precision and the follow up appointments have been very encouraging and extremely helpful with his recovery.

Dr. Godin and his team are AMAZING! I had 2 previous shoulder surgeries the 2nd of which was a regular shoulder replacement which failed. Dr. Godin performed 2 surgeries the 2nd was a reverse shoulder replacement. At 7 weeks out, my shoulder has surpassed where it was with my failed shoulder when it was at it's best (which was never good). From the day of surgery I have had next to no pain and can count on 1 hand the number of pain killers I needed take. Dr. Godin is the BEST!

Dr. Godin and his team were fantastic! Answered all the questions I had and made sure I understood exactly what my injury was and the surgery needed to repair it. I am grateful to be back biking, skiing and hiking as I was before the injury. All thanks to Dr. Godin! Thank you!!

Dr. Godin and his team were phenomenal. I fly in to Colorado 2 days before the surgery, they helped me find accommodation, led me through what to expect before, immediately after, and medium/long term after, patiently responded to my MANY questions, arranged three physical therapy sessions in Colorado the first few days while I was still in Colorado before I flew back ,maintained periodic check-ins on my progress over video conference. And MOST importantly, I am pain free, minimal scarring, 98%+ return to mobility in the shoulder post full shoulder replacement. Working on regaining strength but my p.t. back in Florida continues to complement the excellent work of Dr Godin's team and my progress relative to other patients of theirs. Could not be happier with the results. 10 out of 10, definitely recommend.

Wow, one amazing surgeon. I had a MTB crash in October that severed a rotator cuff tendon. Dr. Godin showed me exactly what happened and laid out exactly what was needed. He also articulated the different variables that could increase or decrease my level of success in recovery. I had surgery in late January and was skiing BC at the end of April. I never thought I'd be so mobile and active this spring, so thankful! If this guy moved to Antarctica I would gladly travel there if I needed orthopedic surgery in the future!
