Gary and Desi Martinez in Whitewater Colorado. Extremely gifted surgeon without the ego of some with his skill set. Great guy. Summed up in one word, STUD. Blessed to have met him personally and professionally. Walks in the room and says, "Hey buddy" to me. Something that simple puts the husband of a patient at ease. Referring a family member as we speak.

Radiology report indicated full tears of the infraspinatus and supraspinatis, and long head bicept tendinopathy. There was significant retraction of the tears. Several Orthopedic physician friends explained the significant amount of damage and a very skilled surgeon would be needed to attempt repairs. Prognosis was hopeful but unknown. Dr. Hackett was recommended to me by a friend who also is an orthopedic surgeon. All three significant injuries were successfully repaired, and 3 months later I have nearly pain free full range of motion (and my Physcial therapist and I expect full range will return).

Dr Hackett and his team operated on me in 2011 for a quad repair. He and his team gave me a fungal infection that caused me to lose my leg. Their non-attention to detail will never be forgiven! Chap

I dislocated my left knee. During the second surgery to repair the damage, while under the care of Dr. Hackett, Dr. Sterett and the Steadman Clinic, I got compartment syndrome on my lower "right" leg. KEEP IN MIND THEY WERE OPERATING ON MY "LEFT" KNEE. What was scheduled to be a routine out patient surgery turned into a week long hospital stay with daily surgeries. My nerves were severed from my knee to my toes, there's an incision running from my knee to my ankle on the outer right leg, another incision nearly the length of my calf on the inside of my right leg, and most of the muscle along my shin was removed. In addition, my big toe is permanent contracted and the three middle toes are compromised due to all of the scare tissue. Before their acts of carelessness, I was competing in duathlons, rock climbing, mountain biking, climbing and snowboarding 14ers in Colorado, road biking, practicing yoga, lifting weights, mountaineering all throughout the Cascades and Rockies, skiing, snowboarding, hiking...pretty much living the Colorado dream. Now, none of that is possible. I will no longer be able to return to my normal active lifestyle. Nor, will my foot ever be normal. Dr. Hackett assured me: 1) my leg and foot would be normal once I healed 2) there wouldn't be any additional surgeries 3) there wouldn't be any complications Well, another doctor has informed me, I will not be able to return to my normal active lifestyle and my foot will never be normal. Additionally, as I age tendonitis will set in and make matter worse. And, if that wasn't enough, there have and there will be additional surgeries in my future. To this day Dr. Hackett, Dr. Sterett nor the Steadman Clinic (COO Kelly Adair), has taken ownership in destroying a perfectly health leg. Leaving me to deal with a lifetime of complications.

Dr Hacket is an extremely skilled and caring Orthopedic Surgeon. I had a ski accident where I dislocated and broke my right shoulder and paralyzed my arm from the shoulder down. After 18 months, 7 surgeries, 1 reverse total shoulder and too many PT sessions to count, I have my shoulder and arm back! Thanks to him I am back on my horse and back on my skis! In short, he gave me my life back. If you find yourself in need of an Orthopedic Surgeon, you cannot do better than Dr Hackett

If only we could bottle him he is wonderful. His staff was kind and caring my husband was so happy we named our new pup after him

Dr. Hackett is excellent! What really seperates him from other Orthopaedic surgeons is the post-surgery/recovery process. He and his staff send you home with a cpm machine and an ice machine which, I believe, made my recovery time as short as possible. Dr. Hackett himself is excellent at describling and detailing what you are going to undergo during surgery and in recovery. I would recommend anyone that can go to Dr. Hackett and the Steadman Hawkins clinic, do.

Dr. Hackett has preformed two knee surgeries on me in the last year. I have had a total of five knee surgeries and Dr. Hackett is by far the most compete and kind surgeon I have ever worked with! He and his staff are extraordinary and really listen to their patients. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hackett!!!

Dr. Hackett is a gem! He explains your situation, encourages questions, is VERY easy to talk to, a good diagnostician, and conservative in his approach to surgery. His staff is excellent and he has an outstanding reputation among Hospital personnel in Vail. If you have an orthopedic problem, he's your man to consult.
