Dr Purnell was condescending and rude. I was a professional athlete and have never in my life seen such an unprofessional, rude doctor. Would tell everyone to avoid seeing this doctor at all costs. Most doctors in Aspen are terrific so definitely go elsewhere.

My 14 year old son had a bad fall while skiing and hurt his knee. He was able to walk but in significant pain. The x-ray said zero fracture and the ligaments and tendons appeared OK. Dr Purnell correctly diagnosed lateral tibia plateau bone bruise that was confirmed by the MRI that he recommended. He is clearly a talented, experienced doctor that any patient would be lucky to have as their Ortho Doc. Supporting staff was friendly and professional.

I just flew across the country to have Dr. Purnell fasten my quad back to my knee. Ten years ago he did my other knee, acl, mcl. Having this latest injury back east made getting to Aspen a little more difficult, but I am so thankful he performed the surgery. I wouldnt trust my legs to anyone else. Fantastic surgeon, but sometimes even just as important great bedside manner and true interest in his patients. He is what a true doctor should be like.
