List of Timothy J Bauer's Reviews
Horrendous! Overcharged and they did not fulfill their responsibilities/services. I have incorrect prescription ergo glasses not viable. Glaucoma & Cataracts testing not completed. When I complained they said see another eye doctor. They owe me over $400 for services not rendered!
Really great experience the whole way through. Good quality, selection & prices. Excellent staff.
I've been going to see Dr. Bauer since he opened his office in Aspen and followed him to Willits. I have difficult eyes (post RK) and he is very patient making sure I get the right prescription and explaining the options with single vision, progressives, etc. My whole family goes there now and we are lucky to have him in the mid-Valley.
Office staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. I especially appreciate that they had my insurance info ready so I was in and out quickly. Dr. Bauer was very personable. I highly recommend.
Bottom line, after a comedy of errors that really wasn’t funny, my insurance agency was able to get me the $180 that they overcharged me back. Didn’t want to get the insurance company involved but they refused to return my phone calls. Dr Brauer does a good/acurate exam. However, there is no communication between him and his office staff. They ordered and charged me for progressive lenses which I did not want. They also put the right glass lens into the left eye and vice versa and ordered them in last years prescription. Come to find out the progressive lenses I ordered the year before were not progressives and I was overcharged for them as well as not getting them. I was charged for things that my insurance actually covers as well as overcharged for things that are out-of-pocket expenses. I called them repeatedly and they never called me back. Had to get the insurance company involved and they were able to get me the $150 back that they overcharge me for this year ( and all I did was have an appointment and have new lenses put my original frames) and are working on the overcharge from the previous year. You will be happy with the prescription that Dr. Bauer gives you but take a pen and paper into the room so you can take notes on what your new prescription is for each eye. Do not trust that the conversation and decisions you make with Dr. Bauer in the back room will make it to the front office. Take notes and make sure that the girls upfront have the right information. Also get an itemized bill and make a phone call to your insurance company and make sure you were not overcharged for items that your insurance company pays. Find out from your insurance company what Dr. Bauer charges for out-of-pocket stuff and make sure those numbers match. I’m not saying they do it on purpose 🤨 but whoever’s in charge of it has not been trained properly and is making the same mistakes year after year and has added a bunch of new ones this year and you the customer are paying for it. I rarely ever write a bad review, only if it truly needs mentioning. This all happened in July and here it is September and I’m still working on trying to get this worked out. I gave them plenty of time and opportunities to call me back and make this right but they never did. Having to get the insurance company involved and then being able to get the problem fixed in a day, well, I just can’t let that go. It’s awful lot of money to over charge somebody and not catch that mistake even when I asked them at the time why it was so costly. It’s a shame but I am going to have to change Eye doctors because I like Dr. Bauer. But I need an office that I can trust not just to not overcharge me but to get my prescriptions and order my things correctly. The girls are lovely Are lovely up front and seem quite intelligent. I’m really not sure where the breakdown in that office is, but there’s definitely something going wrong. I’m sorry I had to write this, but I really tried to let your office make this right and you completely ignored me until I went to my insurance company.
Charges on my account that were never disclosed to me up front. Staff is completely incompetent. Calls and emails never responded to when trying to settle a dispute. Strongly do not recommend utilizing Dr. Bauer's services.
Went to Dr. Bauer and had a great experience. Friendly staff, clean office, modern equipment. Nothing to complain about at all.
I went there for the first time about 2 years ago and found out things that I did not even know about my eyes. Also just last month I took my daughter there to get her eyes checked cause she was complaining that she was not able to see the board at school. Keep in mind that she is a type 1 diabetic as well, and come to find out she needed glasses. Dr B. So sweet to my baby girl and let her know that it’s just her eyes and has nothing to do with her diabetes. My daughter so relieved cause she knows that she can potentially go blind due to this horrible disease. Dr B. Reassured her that it is not diabetes related. I would highly recommend this eye doctor to anyone. They have such good hearts, they care about the patients and not about how much they are getting. Thank you Dr. B. your the best
total bait and switch artist. I've been charged twice for services that never happened. The responsiveness of his staff to my questions about the charges we less than ideal. Phone calls not returned till days later and emails not responded to at all. Ever.
I've been a patient for 2 years and have had nothing but a great experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick to help.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
