Dr. Pohlman has gone above and beyond in solving my surgical needs over the years. His level of patience, care, and optimism are a rarity in modern medicine. I can't imagine calling anyone else if I need future surgical care.

I found Dr. Pohlman to be an exceptional doctor and surgeon. He did a good job on my operation and he listened carefully and addressed all of my questions; even if they weren't 100% about my surgery. In addition, I found him to be a sincerely nice person without the "God complex" that a lot of surgeons have.

The surgery itself went fine I suppose. I did have a hematoma afterwards but that was part of the risk. I never saw the doctor again after my surgery and I agree with the person who left a review feeling like an assembly line. He never followed up on my lab work and when I needed to see him immediately after the surgery his staff told me I should just probably go to urgent care or he could see me in a couple days. I did have to return immediately after surgery due to some external bleeding.

I never saw this surgeon, but I checked the cost for my gallbladder surgery and discovered that Dr. Pohlman and other surgeons in Boulder charge TWICE what others do. The surgery bills out at about $4500 at most places. Dr. Pohlman charges over $10,000! With insurance, that’s about a $700 difference in my out-of-pocket cost. No, thanks. I’ll have my surgery in Superior and save that $700.

I would not recommend Pohlman as he did not follow up which never happened to me after surgery. He seems to be an assembly line surgeon. Not personal, never even came while I was in recovery.

Intelligent and compassionate man. His demeanor was confidence inspiring and professional. I would recommend him to anyone in the Boulder, CO area who needs a surgeon.

He's very educated and knows his field of work. He's done two of my surgeries and without using radiation to find the cause of the problem, he found the problem with symptoms explained. It's very evident that he has experience in the medical field and I would trust only this surgeon with any surgery. I still have some abdominal issues but he has fixed the ones that he specializes in and more thus far. He has removed my appendix my gallbladder and fixed my bilateral hernia. He's a five-star!
