Donald J Keller's Online Review Report Card

I had my annual visit with Dr. Keller today. I have been seeing Dr Keller for over 20 years...he performed my Lasik eye surgery in 1998. I lived in New Mexico for 15 years... during that time I've made the 12 hour round trip drive for an appointment...even flew up from Albuquerque New Mexico after being told I had cataracts to get his opinion.

In the era of a serious medical pandemic, it is shocking the way this office treated its patients. I was told to come in from my car at 3:20 and sit in a hallway by their #2 entrance, which I did. My routine check up appointment was at 3:30. The hallway was crowded and the 2 chairs were 3' apart with approx 3' to the wall across from the chairs where many people walked. There was NO 6' distancing in the hallway. At 4 PM, 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment Maggie called me. She spent 14 minutes with me doing her part of the exam. I then waited from 4:14 until 4:50 for Keller to come in for his 2 m minute exam. This office put those of us waiting out in a busy narrow hallway at risk of covid carriers who passed by. The location was across from the pharmacy which was busy as was the hallway to an exit and restrooms. The staff did nothing to keep us up to date about the abnormally long wait before even getting into their office. I am so disappointed in their scheduling and lack of concern for my exposure to covid. Their simple apology was insufficient compared to the risk I was put in by sitting in a narrow hallway for 35 minutes and then again in the exam room. If you are afraid of the virus, don't go to Keller's office. They appear to be immune to patients' schedules and lives.

My husband and I began seeing Dr Keller several years ago when my husband was diagnosed with macular degeneration and glaucoma.  We feel confident that Dr Keller takes very good care if both of us.  He did both of our cataract surgeries, and recently removed scar tissue I'd developed after my cataract surgery.  I was nervous when my site had worsened. Dr Keller looked at my eyes and within seconds said, 'Easy fix.'   I loved that. He's the gold standard.

Dr. Donald Keller is very efficient, a great communicator, and an excellent eye doctor.

My sister had a great experience with Dr. Keller. However, the staff of the front desk at the S. Boulder Road facility were rude. First, they accused my sister of being 1.5 hours late to her appointment and refused to accept that she was on time. They even said that the doctor had left because she was late. And one of the women raised her arm and ordered us to leave the office and wait in the hall (due to COVID). No please wait in the hall, just a straight, demanding order. A minute later another staff member talked with us and lo and behold, my sister was correct and the doctor hadn't left. Yet, no apology. I let them know that they were rude. I highly recommend Dr. Keller but not his staff.

My eyesight was decreased because of cataracts. Dr. Keller reviewed my eyes, tested, and concluded that I needed surgery to correct my eyesight. After electing surgery to correct my eyes, my new eyesight was beyond my expectations. I had chosen B & L crystalens, which proved to be an excellent choice. Surgery took less than ten minutes on each eye, done about a week apart. I’ve had my new lenses for about six months without complications. My eyesight is clear, wonderful, and much appreciated. Thank you Dr. Keller

I had to switch Doctors just prior to a surgical procedure due to both the lack of competency; and the lack of patient focus here. It set me back by a couple of weeks & caused considerable inconvenience.

Had the worst experience ever here. Schedulers, both Megan & Sharon, were absolutely awful to deal with & Doc tried upsell to premium services even when asked not to.

My experience with Dr. Keller was quite professional who replaced my cataracts with Crystalenses.

I love Dr. Keller. He answers all of my questions and I am very satisfied with the care I am receiving.
