Dr Mayo is highly competent, and equally important, she clearly cares about her patients, their well-being and their recovery. If/when I need my other shoulder repaired, she’ll be the person I choose.

I saw Dr Mayo for a knee problem and was very satisfied with her diagnostic approach, treatment options and ultimate treatment for what was a torn meniscus, as well as her communications throughout the process. She understood my goal to keep running. The staff is excellent and they work together seamlessly. PA Megan Cousins was great in administering gelsyn injections.

Dr Mayo performed the surgery for my left shoulder replacement. She did such a great job! At six weeks my shoulder is almost back to normal! I have little pain and I have great movement! Will definitely recommend Dr. Mayo to friends and family who need orthopedic needs.

Dr. Mayo is a caring, talented surgeon who answered all my questions honestly and completely. My surgery was more massive than the MRI revealed, and completed successfully.

It’s very few doctors of her quality and ability who have the capacity also to be fully present with a patient in the way Ram Das prescribed when he said “Be Here Now”.

If you have any apprehensions about having surgery, be prepared to kiss them goodbye if Dr. Mayo is your surgeon. 😇 First, understand that she completely knows her craft and that she will fully explain to you and educate you on your condition and what she will do, depending on what is found after she gets inside. 😷 Beforehand, you will be thoroughly screened for anything that might affect the success of your operation, plus you will get a prescription for post-op meds so you won't need to stop afterwards, plus an appointment for a post-op exam a few days later. Once inside, she will make the best decision for you and your body. Dr. Castro was my anesthesiologist and he is top-notch. Afterwards, you will receive the best post-op care from the excellent and wonderful nurses in the Surgey Center and Dr. Mayo will make sure you are okay and you will receive care instructions and help getting in your vehicle. You will have a number of post-op followup exams from her and her excellent staff. In short, you'll love the experience, her, and everyone involved. Dr. Mayo can operate on me any time 👍

My care has been thoughtful caring and confident since the very beginning and I have felt nothing but supported through the entire process. Dr Mayo was very confident about her plan for my shoulder surgery and remained confident through the entire process. As a patient, it's scary when these injuries happen and it is incredible to have such peace of mind and confidence in your surgeon. I really appreciate Dr Mayo and I would recommend her to anyone and I'll be seeing her for any future issues :-)

My medical history is complicated by childhood polio, bad family genes and a history of pre-conditions caused by all of the above, but Dr. Mayo cut through the fog with immediate helpful information about my issues and how we might address them. She is clearly on top of the latest treatment options that I had only heard rumors about. She is a great example of why I always pick Boulder medical providers first.

Dr Mayo is an amazing surgeon. From the very first visit to the final visit she was attentive, compassionate, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I have had right and left rotator cuffs repaired and both of them have been exceptional. My physical therapist has remarked on the effectiveness of the surgeries. I would recommend Dr Mayo without hesitation!!
