Central Focus Psychological Group's Online Review Report Card

I was referred because I have a lot of symptoms of autism and they look at me and refused to test me because “I don’t look autistic” and what little bit of testing they did do they were only able to say I was depressed and anxious which literally anyone can tell, they just incredibly unprofessional and incompetent. Luckily I have been working more with my psychiatrist and I went somewhere that was competent and now I know that I do in fact have autism, ADHD, BPD, and PTSD and I know that I specifically have social anxiety and generalized anxiety. So yeah don’t go here if you a high functioning somewhat masking autistic person looking for a diagnosis because they won’t even give the light of day and then when suck at communicating things they act like you’re the problem like you’re a bad person but don’t acknowledge that you might be struggling with communication issues. Absolutely one of the worst most disrespectful mental health places I have ever been.

Shannon and Central Focus have been extremely helpful to our family. Her expert diagnoses have been instrumental in our getting the support and treatment our family member needs. Even one year after the initial assessments, Central Focus has gone out of their way to follow up and assist us. Thank you Shannon and Central Focus!

Central Focus Group on Lake ave. in the Orthopedic Building thoroughly evaluated me for cognitive functioning and any psychological concerns, The staff was very professional and kind. My Evaluator, Kaela was very sweet and helpful and she used a soft and kind voice when explaining the process and testing. I would recommend this clinic if you have concerns about mental health or cognitive function. Glad I got checked out when I did!!

Kaela was excellent help. We got through the 5 hour long neurological testing no problem and she was very attentive to the process and made the it straightforward. I knew that I had made the right decision as soon as I got to the clinic; the right next action to get the answers I needed. Should have done it years ago. Thankful to the team at Central Focus!

the neuro-psych evaluations are fine. but rosemary, my therapist, is awful. she dropped me today with the reasoning that because i'm nocturnal and unwilling for my own reasons to switch to a day schedule, i must not be "ready for therapy," as she put it. as i tried to establish, i'm nocturnal because my boyfriend works nights. and if i stayed awake all day, i would never see or speak to him. being nocturnal isn't and hasn't been the root cause of my stress, but the fact that i'm working a day job and it does not suit my needs right now. ideally i should find a night job. for rosemary to then still blame my stress on my decision to be with my partner, and tell me that this change that's detrimental to my needs is a requirement for getting help, is absolutely ridiculous. she went on to explain that many people get therapy but never put in the work, because they think showing up is enough, and the idea she presented to me that i'm disingenuous in my efforts to work through my mental health problems because i prioritized being on the same schedule as my partner, is also absolutely ludicrous. she also mentioned that i "seem to lack self awareness" because i do not see the glaring problems she thinks are present. at one point she even said "loving your boyfriend seems to come at a high cost to you," which almost feels like gaslighting me into thinking i shouldn't prioritize seeing my partner on a daily basis, because... she thinks i need to be diurnal to work through my mental health issues? i did not feel listened to, and i felt like she was prioritizing her own biases on what constitutes a healthy lifestyle over allowing me to do what works for me. rosemary genuinely made me feel like i could not trust my own perception of reality. if she had said this to someone less sure of themselves, they might be driven to make decisions that negatively impact them because "she said i should," and not because they thought that decision worked for them. after telling me i'm essentially making no effort to improve my life, and refusing to treat me because i pushed back against a change that i feel means sacrificing my relationship, i was left with a lot of anger. truly horrible way to part ways with a patient. it felt like illogical reasoning and i feel like she gaslit me. i will never come back to this practice again.

Very disrespectful personal. Tried to schedule an appointment, I was not going to be able to assist so I canceled and rescheduled for another day, so they wouldn’t charge the $500 fee. An employee called me to tell me they didn’t accept TriCare no more; so I tried to cancel the appointment and they said they were going to charge the $500 fee anyways.

Shannon was so great to work with and made me feel so comfortable.

We have wrestled with a myriad of circumstances and behaviors with our early teenage daughter, for years, although, this was the first that she was ever evaluated. Doctor Pickett and Shannon Wilson were phenomenal to work with! They were both very welcoming, compassionate, understanding, and supportive throughout the entire process! They were thorough and exceptional to detail in our daughter’s assessment, and findings. We feel confident in the overall results as the issues at hand that we have witnessed and experienced for years, and we feel confident with the steps suggested for further help, due to their professionalism!
