List of Colorado Springs Endocrine Clinic's Reviews
I have been diagnosed with hoshimotos by 3 Dr.s and ms doan refused to even check my full thyroid levels. Also told me I only have hypothyroidism. The entire time I seen her, I felt awful because she was not treating me for Hosho. My visits took forever as they take their sweet time, but don't you be late or miss an appt. Because they will terminate you as a patient. Thers more but I won't go there, just don't go there.
I was a patient of nurse practitioner Jean Doan for 8 plus years. I NEVER saw Dr Hensley once! I tolerated their lack of customer service even though I didn’t care for their office or their attitudes. I recently missed an appointment- the first I have ever missed in 8 years and was billed $100 for a no show. I am a 71 year old retired RN and would never intentionally no show for an appointment. I called the office as soon as I returned home to apologize and ask for grace, but was told there is no grace-not even if you've been their patient for 30 years. I did not expect that response but now in retrospect I should have expected them to be unyielding. I have transferred my endocrinology care to another doctor and would advise anyone looking for an endocrinologist to look elsewhere!
Wow, I can't believe the negative reviews. I was sent to Jean by my Dr. a long time ago because my thyroid tests were all over the place, one time high, next time low. She immediately said it could be because I was on a generic medicine, switched me to Synthroid and everything's fine, never had to increase or decrease the dosage. That's the difference between generic and brand name drugs. Thank you, Jean.
Disclaimer: I haven't been to this office, explanation below: Today I asked to have the new patient forms emailed to me, and was told they only do fax, because they don't have a "secure email server". This is archaic, and inconveniencing to the patients. They also said it would take a half hour in the office to fill out the paperwork. Many have arthritis in their hands, making this task very challenging. Also, it's time consuming when it doesn't need to be. It's been years since I dealt with an office that is so out of date. It makes me worry about what else might be archaic. I'm going to be seen elsewhere.
If you want a provider that will listen to you as a person, this is not the place to go. The providers feels very strongly about the BRAND NAME medications they prescribe. When I first came to the practice, my thyroid levels were fine. Jean changed my medication to Synthroid and my levels have never been the same. They refuse to prescribe generic Synthroid. They say it is unethical to prescribe levothyroxine . What I find unethical, is the lack of partnership between the patient and provider. The other thing I find unethical is that I have gone from hypothyroid to hyper and symptomatic. Prior to seeing this office, my thyroid was fine and within normal limits. When I got my most recent labs I asked to be put back on the medication I was on prior to coming to this office. Apparently, they also find Armour Thyroid to be unethical because she told me my primary care can prescribe it because she wouldn't. When my labs came back with pre-diabetes, her response to me was "Just eat less carbs." She didn't ask how many carbs I was eating. I was already eating less than a diagnosed diabetic would be recommended to eat. They don't look at you as an individual person. According to CBS news, "It's illegal to give kickbacks to a doctor to prescribe drugs, but it is legal to give money to doctors to help promote your drug. Some doctors make tens of thousands or hundred of thousands of dollars a year beyond their normal practice just for working with the industry."
Business operations are less than desirable. However, Dr Henley has helped me resolve my endocrine issues and finally feel better... It took forever to get anyone to answer the phone. (They rarely answered, always went to voicemail & lucky if I got a call back) When my Dr sent the referral paperwork they claimed multiple times they still didn't have it. When I finally got an appointment scheduled it was a 6+ month wait. Every appointment I show up on time sometimes 15 minutes early and every time I waited 30 minutes up to an hr past my schedule appointment time. I couldn't handle the time commitment and stress of being a patient with this office. Recommend finding another clinic!
Dr Henley and the educator Leeigh are the only good things I have to say about this clinic. I have 2 chronic illnesses that cause me to be sick constantly. I missed my last appointment due to being hospitalized and they sent me a letter saying I was dropped for no call no showing. I had my gf call the day of my appointment and tell them I wouldn't make it and needed to reschedule. They let her reschedule on the phone but sent me the letter anyways and Leigha (the rudest receptionist I've ever spoken to) even acknowledged speaking to her. I called and spoke to another receptionist that was able to advocate my case with Dr Henley and get me back in but when I called today Leigha said that wasn't allowed and she didn't have the permission to do that. I wish I could have a word with this lady because she's literally putting my health at risk by being rude and arrogant.
Always somewhat condescending, rude without a reason to be...
I am a healthcare provider who called this office to obtain orders needed to complete my service for a mutual patient. Most unprofessional, unorganized, lengthy voicemail I have ever heard. All I needed was a faxed order, and doctor stated, "I can try!" I initiated to very the correct patient's identity with doctor who stated, "Yeah, I guess!" If you're comfortable interacting with and entrusting an adult with a teenage mindset, attitude and vocabulary, this is definitely the doctor for you, but endocrinology is a very demanding and highly complicated field of medicine that I personally would not entrust someone who cannot communicate to their patients, clients or other providers in a professional manner in charge of my healthcare.
Everyone in the entire office is rude and has no understanding in regards to my other illnesses

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
