Steve is personable--great 'bedside' manner--friendly, obviously exceptional in his field, all without being gratuitous and 'schmaltzy.' Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Ms. Wernly, sorry to see the review regarding the dissatisfaction about your mother's care at the Wright Eye Center. Whenever we feel a patient has a condition that is beyond the scope of care that we provide, we will never hesitate to refer that patient to the correct specialist. We do not provide advanced retina care at the Wright Eye Center, and therefore I referred your mother to a retina specialist who could properly diagnose and, if needed, treat the condition. My intentions are always based on the patients' best interest, and certainly not for financial gain of any sort. Consider the alternative: had your mother's condition needed attention, and it went undiagnosed and untreated due to not being referred. That, it my opinion could have been a much worse situation. If you feel I made a mistake by referring your mother, I'm sorry. But I would rather make that mistake 100 times rather than miss a diagnoses one time.

Dr. Clancy told my mother that both of her maculars were bleeding and needed immediate attention, but that he couldn't give her the needed shots. He referred her to another doctor. She spent a terrified weekend until she was able to get an appointment with a doctor in Parker who checked her and found NO bleeding. She has had this condition for years, and has tried to keep on top of it. She chose to go back to a doctor she had used before even though it was quite a distance away, and I'm glad she did because Dr. Clancy completely mis-diagnosed her. I don't know if this is a case of incompetence or milking the Medicare system, but Dr. Clancy was clearly wrong. I would never recommend him or his office to anyone.
