Gunnison Valley Health Mountain Clinic's Online Review Report Card

Below is my review. The owner came back with their response and advised me to call their grievance hotline, which I did, but I never heard anything from them. They have called me a couple of times looking for their payment, but I have already mailed them a check. Apparently they did not receive the check or they lost it. The unfortunate part for me is since I was miss-diagnosed and I had to go see another doctor on Christmas day which cost me an additional $350, which is substantially more than this clinic's bill. You would think they would have offered to reimburse me the $350 or cancel their bill, but apparently they think they deserve to be paid for bad performance. So, I will mail them another check. If they can't process this one, we will be done and I will be deemed a bad patient. I went to this clinic on December 22, 2022 with a sever cold, sore, throat, and low grade fever. Was given a Strep Test that was negative, and then I saw a PA. I advised the PA that I used to travel excessively and was susceptible to Sinus Infections, and my doctors would give me antibiotics, mainly a Z-Pac, which would knock it out before it got worst. I advised that it felt like I was getting a Sinus Infection, and a antibiotic would take care of this. She advised that it was a virus and that an antibiotic would not help. I essentially spent the next three days in bed, and on December 25th, I made an appointment with another doctor in Crested Butte, and was diagnosed with a Severe Sinus Infection. I was given a 10 day supply of antibiotics and had to take them for 10 days in order to get rid of the infection. So, I ended up with two doctor bills and spent most of my ski vacation in bed. I would not go back to this clinic. And sadly the people who work there were very nice and professional, but I am not going to a doctor's office to make friends, I am going there for medical treatment. I do not recommend this clinic.

I have just returned home from visiting this Urgent Care after a snowmobiling accident and I all I can say is WOW!! I stumbled in on one leg with tears in my eyes and two people rushed out to help me inside. Every single person that I encountered treated me with respect and kindness. I have never had such a pleasant medical experience and wanted everyone to know. So thank you to the entire team (and I mean the entire team) from the paramedic, XRay tech (Jersey!!) front desk, nurses and PA, this crew is top notch.

Hate to leave a bad review. But this isn’t the service industry so I can see why they don’t care. But I do want to explain my experience if anyone is interested. I walked in waited about 15mintues for someone to talk to me. Until I finally decided to say “hello” wondering if anyone is home. Lady comes out saying she didn’t hear me and starts helping me. Things go well till the doctor comes and tells me he can’t help me. Which is ok, that is normal and I get that. He tells me to wait while he get the phone number of someone who can help. I wait another 15min. I decide it is time to leave as I have been here about 40 min by this point and I have work soon. I walk out of the room towards the front to ask the lady if I can leave. She chuckles and says no I need to sign before I leave. So confused, I walk back to the room and wait another few minutes. Then the doctor come back saying sorry he took so long and that he couldn’t get me the number… but he said he would help me find someone who can help and he said he would call me about it. So the doctor was as helpful as he could have been it seems. So I appreciate that. One side note is that I was the only patient there the entire time. Not a sole walked through besides staff the whole time. But it is the way it is and unfortunately people go here because they have to not because they have 5 choices and this was the best. All in all, if you don’t HAVE to come to the mountain location… just don’t

I was referred to this Family Dr. By default. Our previous family physician, Dr. Hastings moved and this person was taking his previous patients. When it came time to renew our preschoolers immunization exemption form for school, I filled out our form and faxed it to Dr. Hill. She refused to sign our form, probably for political reasons. I’m not even an “anti-vaxer” but am waiting until my daughter turns 5 to start immunizations. This is more than an inconvenience for us. I have to get my child into a dr and will be late to register her for school. We may or be able to continue with her school because of the overwhelming numbers of families flowing to the valley at this unsustainable rate.

Incredible experience at the Mountain Clinic! Everyone I came in contact with was incredibly caring and professional. Patient after patient kept coming in and they were efficient and kind with their treatment. Thank you so much for all you do!!!!

This “practice” has given me the absolute worst medical care that I have ever experienced. I had been ill for over a week. I thought it might just be prolonged altitude effects, however, I had been to crested butte several times per year leading up to moving here, and had never experienced these symptoms. Upon my visit to this clinic, I could hardly breathe. I was coughing up and expelling blood from my mouth and sinuses (which I had explained to both the nurse and the “doctor”) for over a week. My head had been pounding for days, I was dizzy, and my throat felt felt like it had been scorched... after an evaluation from the nurse, I was left to sit in on the bed in the patient room for just over an hour without having any contact from any staff... finally, when a “doctor” came into the room, he gave me a nasal swab test for the FLU, which came back negative. He told me that there was no reason to test me for Covid, because my 99.2 body temperate was not a fever... He then diagnosed me with a “common cold” and prescribed me with a nasal spray and gave me my walking papers. Told me if my symptoms didn’t improve soon to not worry... About 7 weeks later and I am experiencing lung damage, nasal damage, blood circulation issues, along with prolonged versions of the same symptoms that I tried to get the staff here to address. I’m going to have my attorney contact the facility in the next week. Do NOT let these individuals have any admission into the care of your health. One of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made in my entire life.

Amazing care!!! I took a tumble while snowboarding on 2/11 which caused dislocation and a break to both my distal tibia and fibula. EVERY person I came in contact with made me feel at ease considering the situation. I ended up being promptly transferred for surgery and am now on the road to recovery. I am forever thankful to you all!

This was a waste of my time. Dealing with Depression/Anxiety and see a really rude Physicians assistant asking me questions completely unrelated to anything medical. I was told that there are no physiatrists in the valley and I would need to go to Montrose or Grand junction to see one. All I simply asked was for a few Prozac and anxiety med temporarily until I can get set up with a physiatrist here as I moved from California. He just said he could not help My BP was also 180/101 they tried to tell me that it's not high.Also a fever of 100 but it doesn't matter to them. Dangerous care

Got in quickly. Went for an irritated eye and they filed insurance and called in a prescription.
