List of Adventhealth Medical Group Primary Care At Highlands's Reviews
The receptionists have always been extremely rude to me here. My family has had multiple doctors established who then leave, we aren't notified, and then we're told that we need to start all over as a new patient. Would recommend a larger more established clinic.
Let me start by saying I am a 50 something guy that has had a lifetime fear of doctors, so when I tell you Dr. Bennion is nothing short of a saint in scrubs! I have not had a PCP since high school because of my fear of Dr's and needing a PCP for knee replacement surgery I stumbled on to Dr. Bennion which has been a lifesaver for me. Now I can say I have a PCP. He has helped me understand the full scope of my health and is caring and understanding about it. I highly recommended Dr. Bennion and his staff to anyone looking for a care provider. Thank you for what I feel is saving my life. Please feel free to contact with any comments or concerns.
I been going to this location for 7 years to be seen by Dr. Kornhauser, who was a great provider. Dr. Kornhauser has recently retired and I was transferred to a new physician named Dr. Miller who was the most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever encountered. As soon as the appointment started, he starts off by bad mouthing Dr. Kornhauser’s work and practices and continuously tries to degrade him as a physician, the appointment continues and he starts switching my prescriptions to higher dosages without my consent or input, his reasoning is because of a fear of supply. I refill my prescription when it’s time and I have an issue with my pharmacy about prescription availability. I call the providers office asking to be switched back to my previous dosage due to this issue. I receive a message saying that I won’t be prescribed these medications by Dr. Miller going forward with no further explanation. I never asked to be switched meds, I never had any issues previously until now. I’m sure this location has other doctors who provide excellent care, Dr. Miller clearly doesn’t fall into this category. I never asked about the clinic gossip or his opinion on my previous physician, I never asked to be switched medications. He is the definition of an unprofessional and an arrogant individual.
I recently went for health screening, and the whole process went very smoothly, very comfortable and peaceful waiting room, friendly and professional staff.
I'll join the recent reviews criticizing the AdventHealth takeover of this practice. I've been a patient for the past several years and have had a different doctor every time I've gone - not by choice. It make me wonder what the purpose is of having a primary care doctor. Fast forward to today when my mammogram provider called me. Apparently they faxed a request to the office in March of this year addressed to a Dr that was no longer part of that location. Instead of directing the request to the new location or reaching out to me about the issue, NOTHING was done. In fact, I wouldn't have known there was an issue except that my mammogram provider kindly called me to let me know. AdventHealth had ZERO communication around the fact that a) one Dr left their practice entirely and b) another Dr relocated to a different practice. Had that been the case, I could have corrected the situation, but now I'm in jeopardy of needing to reschedule an appointment that's been on the calendar for literal months because AdventHealth couldn't communicate about Drs change. Additionally, I have another prescription that needs to be renewed in 5 days. This one was issued by the Dr no longer with the practice, which I would not have known if I hadn't called them today. What's more, it's going to be another 6 weeks before I can see a new Dr, longer than the 4 week extension they typically provide. Why this wasn't managed proactively by the practice, I have no idea - further, there is no excuse for this level of disorganization in a family practice. If I wasn't already entrenched, I'd definitely be looking for a new doctor. It's insane they run a business in this manner.
My doctor left the group after she returned from maternity leave, yet I was NEVER even notified, via mail, via email or via phone. I found out AFTER I requested an Rx refill and was denied, it was like pulling teeth to get them to refil my medication! To top it off they gave me 1 refil, and denied my other refil. Sabrina was the only person who gave a damn about me needing my meds, the others were VERY non-chalant about the entire situation. When a doctor whose assigned patients leaves the practice, it's only common sense that you would notify their patients! That being said, do not go here unless you want to get established with a doctor only to learn they've now left and the staff that's left won't take any responsibility for it, or for your care. Hands down worst doctors office experience ever!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Avoid this place if possible, their front of office staff are grossly incompetent and negligent. It took MONTHS for this clinic to finally send something to me to create an account with them after they switched to Adventhealth. I called multiple times and during the one time a human actually answered, they couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting an account set up email. We checked that they had a correct email address and I checked my spam folder, they claimed it was fixed but no email ever arrived. None of my voicemails were ever returned about this issue or when I would call to try to set up an appointment. This was a problem before they were taken over by AdventHealth too, with phones going unanswered and any voicemail left being ignored/never responded to. I finally got a text message to set up an account today after waiting for some kind of way to do this since JANUARY. They also managed to "lose" one of my prescriptions for a chronic health condition during the transfer and I'm hoping they restore it without forcing me to pay them yet another copay to come in for another appointment.
Never do telehealth here. The doctor was 5 minutes late, rude, clearly rushing through, asked no questions and then gave me the wrong diagnosis and prescription before charging me $128. AFC Urgent Care down the road is the way to go.
I would give zero stars if possible. I went in for a physical in 2021 (which has zero co pay) and centura charged me $20 because "they took my blood pressure" - this what i was told by their billing. I've had physicals all my life and this is standard of any physical nor have i been charged for that. I spoke with centura's billing department and was told this payment would be dropped. Almost 3 years later i get a message from a collections agency, absolutely ridiculous, can't recommend avoiding centura enough. For example, I just did my annual physical at UCHealth and they didn't charge me for taking my blood pressure....
Dr. Bruss is Super kind and easy to talk to. Appreciated it as a new patient especially.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
