In 1999 Dr Baer repaired my hernia on my right side and my umbilical hernia too. Both are fine to this day. Thank you Dr Baer.
I would not recommend this practice. One of the doctors tested positive for covid right before my surgery so instead of postponing they hired a service without getting pre-approval. They handed me a piece of paper right before we went into surgery when I had zero time to think about what it actually meant. I have received a bill for $5,582.12 Not only did they bring covid into their office, but they're involved in 'surprise billing' now as well. Stay away.
So thankful for physicians like him. Emergency appendectomy he was extremely informative. Truly kept me at ease💗
I had a great experience with Dr. Baer and the team at Porter hospital for my gallbladder surgery. From pre-op to post, I felt like everything was properly explained and I was well-taken care of. I highly recommend Dr. Baer and his team and would happily go back to him for any future procedures.
Dr. David Baer with SurgOne performed my umbilici hernia surgery with Dr. Christina Hernandez as the attending anesthesiologist at the Rocky Mountain Surgery Center. During my initial consultation with Dr. Baer, he informed me that the surgery was optional and it was my choice, so I did not feel pressured to proceed. He was warm and authentic and provided preoperative instructions and answer all my questions/concerns. Post surgery day one, I am very pleased with the outcome, minimal pain (really just some slight discomfort), incision was smaller that I anticipated. His staff has already contacted me follow-up on post recovery.
Dr. Baer was awesome! From the office visit to the surgery, everything went very smooth. No major pain after surgery and no need for any meds other than Advil. Overall a very good experience.
I saw Dr. Baer as a new patient expecting to be told from the testing I had done that surgery was next. Dr. Baer spent time with me explaining that at this time he did not believe it was necessary. I believe 5 out of six doctors would have told me I needed surgery the sooner the better. Appreciated him so much! He was thorough and will definitely go back to him should surgery be necessary at a later time! Connie
With a hernia problem my Personal Physician referred me to Dr Baer. The first visit was very comforting and informative. Surgery was not recommended at the time and I was told I will know when it is. A few months later that time came and we scheduled surgery within a few weeks. The results were absolutely successful in all ways. The surgery went quickly along with the incare recovery, and I was home recovering in a matter of 4 hours. I can give Dr Baer most of the credit for the results...I within 2 weeks I totally recovered and feeling great again. Great experience!!!
Everybody in this office was great, from the receptionist to the nurse to Dr. Baer himself. He is well-educated, warm, caring, articulate, and really pays attention to your needs. Best of all, he told me my hernias are so small that he recommends no action at this time...maybe a nerve block later if they pain me too much. He explained his reasoning very clearly. I would definitely use him if I needed surgery, and recommend him to others.
Zero transparency in billing, zero communication from staff (despite confirming they had correct contact info). Dr. Baer was unwilling to admit his error in diagnosing problem. It is unkind to tell patients they are wrong and not apologize when you learn they are right. He may not have performed the surgery completely as a result of the misdiagnosis, although there is no way to prove it. The only positive part of the experience was a quick recovery, but that is not enough to outweigh all the negatives so I will try my chances with another surgeon for the same problem.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
