List of David Drucker's Reviews
I've seen Dr Drucker for over 20yrs and am so grateful that Drucker is still seeing patients in 2022! Drucker is the most experienced, professional, humorous and very personable.Thank you for caring Dr DruckerShany W
Dr. Drucker saw me from the time I was a teenager in Denver, back in early 1980s. As far as I know, he has retired. But those four decades or so when he took care of my eyes were outstanding. He always had a story to tell, and he was able to simplify the complexities. Close to the end of his career, me as a much older version of the teenager he used to treat, Druck was just as excited and happy as when I was a kid. There is truly something wonderful about Drucky, and he loved his kids.
I went to Dr Drucker one time when he was still in his downtown office. I have a severe eye phobia (can't touch my eyes, watch others touch their eyes, etc.). Due to my fear, it's embarrassing to admit, but I was in my late thirties and it was my first eye exam ever. I told the staff and Dr. Drucker about my fear from the start. The waiting room experience was mediocre. I had to wait past my scheduled time and the front desk staff were average at best.Dr. Drucker's bed side manner rubbed me the wrong way. He had no empathy for my 'eye phobia' and proceeded with my exam as he would with any other patient. He was not particularly interested in connecting with me, nor was he particularly warm. His attitude could best be described as 'dismissive.'He did the exam and prescribed glasses. He performed the work I had come there for. Since I never had a prior eye exam, I can't testify about the quality of his work. But based on his disregard for my fear, and his lack of interest in anything more than providing a cursory exam with minimal questions or discussion, I decided I would choose a new eye doctor the next time I got brave enough to go.
I've been going to Dr. Drucker since I can remember. I love that it's always him I see. He even did my PRK about 7 and half years ago. He's a true professional and highly recommend him!
A number of years ago I was referred to Dr. Drucker by a friend when I had a complicated eye issue. I'm so glad I went to him because he's great and so are his staff people. This is a very professional group lead by a thoroughly professional doctor.
Staff has attempted to overcharge me multiple times, very unprofessional in general. No clue how to handle contact lenses, will try to charge you for cleaning hard lenses even with a fully paid for appointment. Avoid at all costs.
Very expensive! I've been going for years, but after my last bill I've decided it's time to switch practices. I liked their location on downtown Denver so I could go over my lunch break, but a I recently received an email saying they are moving out of downtown... maybe their prices will reduce if they reduce their rent? One can only hope. Unless you've got money to burn I'd suggest finding a more affordable Optometrists.
I had a terrible experience at this office over six visits in the the last 5.5 months. I originally went in for an exam after having severe vision problems and itchy and painful eyes. Dr. Solomon said that I had dry eyes and put in plugs. My condition improved short-term, but became worse, so I went back for a second visit, which I think was with Dr. Drucker. The plugs were too big and had fallen out, so smaller plugs were put in. I mentioned that my eyelids were very itchy, red, and puffy, and was told that was just from allergies which I have never had before. I was still having major problems with my vision and my eyes were secreting thick mucus, so I went in again and met with Dr. Sturdy. He said it was dry eyes, but I continued to complain so he finally flipped my eyelids up and discovered that I had Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis. I was quite annoyed because the previous doctors never looked under my eyelids even though I had the same symptoms. He explained that I would need to wear glasses and use steroid drops several times a day. I told him that I didn't own any glasses, so he said I could wear contacts, but it would take longer for the condition to improve, which I was fine with. I went back two weeks later for a follow-up and Dr. Sturdy said my condition was improved and I could continue to wear my contacts if I wanted, but strongly suggested glasses. After that I scheduled my annual exam because I was out of contacts and met with a tech who argued with me saying that I had an annual exam a month before even though I had cancelled the appointment. She finally did the exam, but my vision was still very blurry. She said the doctor would discuss the issue with me and would also discuss switching to daily contact lenses. I met with Dr. Greeley and he said my condition had gotten worse and lectured me about not wearing glasses. I told him that I would get glasses to wear in the evenings, but that I couldn't drive or function with them, so I would still need to wear contacts at work. I also explained that I did not have any glasses and my contacts were very old, so I asked if I could get some daily lenses to try, but he said I would need to come back for an annual exam later. I said I thought that's what the appointment was for, but he said no, my appointment was just a follow-up visit for my conjunctivitis. I became very frustrated because no one in the office seemed to know why I was even there. He looked and eventually agreed it would be billed as an annual exam, so I asked about the lenses, but he told me I would need to come back for a lens fitting in two weeks. I came back and met with Dr. Drucker who was very abrasive right from the start. He looked under my eyelids and stated that I still had conjunctivitis and asked if I was using drops. I pulled out a bottle of Refresh drops from my purse and asked if that's what he meant. He very rudely stated that I needed to use the ones that were preservative free because the ones I had been using would worsen the conjunctivitis. I stated that the three other doctors I saw all told me to use the drops I had been using. He said, "I don't care what they said, this is what I'm telling you!" I said I understood, but the other doctors had given me bad medical advice, and he might want to discuss that with him. He very loudly stated that he didn't care what they told me. He then stated that I looked irritated and asked why, so I told him that he was very rude and he became more angry and nasty. I explained that this was my sixth appointment and that no one even looked under my eyelids until my third appointment, so I was pretty fed up. He angrily stated that this is what he was telling me now and I told him again that he was being rude and that I would be finding a new eye doctor. He said, "I hope you do!" and walked out of the room. The tech marched me up to the front and I told her I still needed the trial daily lenses that he said he would give me and she said in a nasty tone, "You said you weren't coming back. Why would we give you any trials? You have to come back for a follow-up visit for that." I said to tell the doctor that I would be leaving a very bad review and she said, "Go right ahead!" and then stormed off in the back and proceeded to talk very loudly about me with a few other techs. A woman working in the check-out area overhead and so did the assistant manager who asked to speak with me in private. He was very apologetic and gave me some sample daily lenses to try as well as some samples of the preservative free eye drops that were not offered to me by the doctor. I was grateful, because I had not tried the daily lenses and I felt like the doctor should have tested my vision with them in before handing out a prescription and sending me out the door. Dr. Drucker was the most rude and abrasive person I have ever met and acted extremely unprofessionally when I voiced my concern that I was not satisfied with the service.
Dr. Drucker was the most rude and abrasive medical professional I have ever encountered. I met with him after five visits to his office for GPC. He spoke to me in a demeaning tone right from the start. I mentioned a concern about the care I had received previously from other doctors in his office and he became very angry. I told him he was being rude and he became even more nasty. I told him I would be finding a new eye doctor and he said that he hoped I would and walked out of the room.
A huge waste of time. I made an appointment for Monday morning and had to take off work in order to make that appointment. I was called on Monday morning and told that the doctor who was supposed to see me wasn't going to make it in but that they would still be able to accommodate me. I let them know that I needed to be into work and would need to be done by 12pm. She told me that it wouldn't be a problem and moved my appointment back a half hour. I showed up at 10:30am to a full waiting room. I checked in and the person at the front desk didn't mention anything about a back up. About 15 minutes later, they called me to the desk to fill out my paper work and I asked how much longer it would be. He told me 40 min to an hour and asked if I would like to reschedule.... ya, no thanks. This was my first time going to Drucker Eyes and they lost my future business before I even saw a doctor. I wouldn't bother wasting your time with this one unless you have an entire day to waste waiting for an exam.
