James Barton Ii's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr. Barton for about 24 years. I was VERY disappointed when I called last week to schedule an annual gyn visit. I was told that he retired and that I would have to fill out paper work as a new patient to see another provider in his office. I had so much confidence in his care and he was an EXCELLENT physician. I just am upset that I was not notified and had no opportunity to ask him for a referral and to obtain copies of my medical records. This has been my ONLY complaint during all of this time.

I was on the induction list at Sparrow for my second child. I got the call to come in and I was hesitant. However, when I heard Dr. Barton was the OB on call, I said, “let’s go”. He’s caring, up to date on the literature, listens to my concerns and is patient with me. I couldn’t have asked for better and his confidence in his team and me as a patient led to a great experience and good outcomes for me and my baby. Thank you, Dr. B.

Very caring and thoughtful doctor. Always has your best Interest at heart. Very good bedside manner and will always listen and not rush you in and out like a lot of dr do. I was very grateful for him to deliver my son January 2020. He explains everything in depth and makes sure you leave without having any questions.

Dr. Barton practices evidence based medicine. He is up to date on the procedures and literature. Saw him for a second opinion on HRT and so glad I did. He is an advocate for women’s health during this transition.

Professional and knowledgeable

He is also brilliant & methodically thoughtful in his approach to medicine. Still grateful to him for his care." I've been to many OB/GYNs through family relocations, and met more through professional work. That context only heightened my long-standing impression -- Central MI is fortunate to have one of the top OB/GYNs in the nation.

Dr. Barton is one of the best surgeons my family and I have ever met. Great bedside manner, professional, courteous. He keeps up to date on the most current medical standards and beliefs. Explains procedures and results excellently.

I was so blessed to have Dr Barton deliver my baby. My water had broke more than 24 hrs earlier and I had begun to develop an infection. Dr Barton did everything he could to help me deliver her naturally but I ended up in need of a c section. He took the time to explain to me why I needed it and assured me with a spirit of encouragement that I did my best to bring her into the world naturally. He gave me confidence in an emotional situation.
