List of Kimberly A. Vanderveen's Reviews
The care from Dr. Vanderveen and her staff was excellent and showed true care and concern for me. She was very through and followed-up appropriately. She and her staff listened very carefully and gave information in a very understandable way. After surgery, I had appropriate follow-up by the hospital and was able to call her office with a question. mm
Failed to file preauthorization and resulted in many cancelled surgeries for my mom with a serious thyroid mass. Absolute failure of their office and wildly increased stress within my family. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Kimberly is a very poor excuse for a doctor. I was requested to her for a thyroid biopsy last year. She very rudely said she wont do one cause she felt no need when my doctor specifically requested one for breathing problems I had. She wouldn't even listen to me and my mom and bluntly said its hashimodos disease its as simple as that without even studding or looking at me. I just finally had a my thyroid biopsy done at another location after a year and it turned out it is a benign thyroid tumor not hashimodos….! If you want proper care do not go to her, she doesnt care about patients, just paychecks
Overall, a very poor medical experience from the initial phone call to the first appt. in which I never met her, to a pre-op that she sent me away from to get critical imaging done with no insurance pre-auth., to 3 surgery cancelations due to their office filing the insurance authorization too close to the surgical date. I now have to have this surgery in a new calendar year starting over with a new deductible - costing me thousands. I wanted to love this surgeon and her practice as she was recommended by my doctor friends with good reviews. After months of her staff not following up, not returning calls, and ultimately, not filing insurance authorizations, I am left without the surgery that was medically necessary. I understand that underperforming staff can cause issues, however, every touch point with this practice left a lot to be desired. I am left struggling to find a different surgeon without this practice taking any accountability for its missteps other than to offer an apology
DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS, ONLY PAYCHECKS. Did not care to work with insurance resulting in many cancelled surgeries. Her office is the one that failed to file after saying they had done so months ago.
I think Dr. Vanderveen is a qualified surgeon but her office staff leaves a lot to be desired. If you call with questions you either don’t get a callback to a message or you’re told they have to ask the doctor and then never call you back. Had surgery and a week later had recovery questions. It’s been 5 business days with no answers. Not my idea of a good practice.
I truly feel like Dr Vanderveen saved my son's life. She had the foresight to order an extra ultrasound and biopsy that lead to a surprising diagnosis. She was extraordinarily thorough during surgery to the point that she discovered a major problem that I'm not sure a general surgeon would have thought to look for. He had none of the common post-surgical complications such as low calcium or hoarseness. I'm so grateful to Dr Vanderveen; I hate think what might have happened if we hadn't found her. As a side note, as if that's not enough, she has an incredible personality and really helped us through the process.
Dr Vanderveen removed half of my thyroid and unfortunately cut my vocal cord in the process. She minimized the risk and aftermath of vocal chord surgery which was quite intense. I’d suggest always a second opinion before surgery. She did however see up the scar beautifully
I had a thyroidectomy back in 2013 done by Dr. Vanderveen. I am in the field of healthcare and can honestly say that I felt completely comfortable in her competent hands. She was attentive before AND after the surgery and followed through with compassion, intelligence, and competence. I feel lucky that I somehow ended up in her care and am doing very well 7 years later. I cannot say enough good things about this surgeon.
Dr. Vanderveen and her staff were fabulous. I had a parathyroid adenoma removed and am feeling much better as early as one week later.

It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
