List of New West Physicians: Cherry Creek Internal Medicine's Reviews
I had a poor experience at this office when they refused to renew my rescue inhaler prescription because I had not been seen in over a year. They stated I would need to be seen again before they would order the medication I need to address life-threatening asthma attacks. The earliest appointment was more than 3 weeks away. While I understand the importance of being seen regularly, this decision would have put my life at risk for several weeks. I informed them I had lost my inhaler and asked if they could order just that medication in advance of the appointment, but they refused. Fortunately, I was able to schedule a short-notice telehealth appointment with another provider and avoided an emergency room visit or any further harm. I do not recommend this office because they do not prioritize patient wellbeing first and foremost.
I had a very nasty woman on the line when I called for an appointment. She lied and said the doctor was out of the country. I made an appt with the NP and found out the woman had lied. When I finally got an appt with the doctor, I told her about the experience and she called me a liar. In my whole life, I had never been spoken to like that. She is a terrible person and I am still upset, a month later.
They don't tell you about the side effects of the medication you are on they just prescribe you more medication because of their neglect I might have permanent brain damage will be suing the practice for neglect.
My husband called for an appt because he had a sinus infection. He went in, saw the doctor and the doctor--Gregory Kaczmarczyk, diagnosed him with the same thing, then told my husband he would call in the antibiotic on Friday last week! TWO DAYS LATER!??? Why would a doctor do this? Then on Friday-during work, he had to call the office THREE times to get the prescription sent to the pharmacy!! DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN ONE THING--BEING HERE IN COLORADO--GUESS WHAT THAT WAS?
I don't have a problem with the Physicians at Cherry Creek. The problem is their billing system. Six MONTHS after I saw Dr Townsend, I received a call from New West telling me that I owe $450! I never received a bill from them and my patient portal says I don't owe anything. After several calls to New West, Optum and another call center, I was told that Optum does not support the patient portal! I called New West and gave the robot my credit card number and was told they "could not process it." I ended up having to go to the office to pay the bill! The ladies at the front desk were very kind, helpful and sympathetic and said everyone complains about the billing system. Do Better NWPhysicians!
Disappointed in the lack of communication. Refills are a problem every single month. The pharmacy complains about the office and the office complains about a large mainstream pharmacy. New West does not accept faxes from pharmacies? Well that's how pharmacies send refill requests. The patient suffers because their mismanagement. It's absurd at this point especially considering they are owned by a large corporate entity. PS I work in healthcare management.
My husband and I have both been going to New West Physicians for a number of years and have had a great experience. There are many New West offices & I suspect that the bad reviews are for a different office. There are two different NWPhysicians in the same Cherry Creek building on 9th Ave. We go to NW/Cherry Creek Internal Medicine and have found them to be very efficient, helpful and professional. We have always received prompt assistance with any questions or needs from the front desk staff the same day we call in. Vicki & Felicia are always very reliable about taking care of our needs. We highly recommend this office.
I really liked my doctor but they do not answer the phone ever. Trying to refill a script is a terrible thing.
Dr Metros is a fantastic doctor! Knowledgable, caring and attentive. He is the standard!
Ditto all the other 1 stars (should be 0) Avoid this practice!!!!!! Every aspect of this practice is a problem. One example - Rude reception - After holding for 30+ minutes the phone was finally answered. When I commented about the long hold I was told - "Well , if I didn't have to deal with questions from people like you, there wouldn't be such a long hold." Another example - Inattentive/uninformed - I don't think my file with medical history is referenced. After one visit, I was told to take a certain supplement that would have been extremely dangerous to me because of a pre-existing condition that was clearly communicated to them. Yet Another example - (don't even have words to characterize this) - I needed a re-fill on a basic maintenance medicine that I have taken at the same dosage for at least a decade. Reception said I had to have an appointment and the doctor required it. When I explained that my insurance was very bad, I had financial issues due to a COVID layoff, and my new and hugely better insurance would begin in less than a month (actually 8 days from the appointment they made me set) and could she check with the doctor to still fill it if I set an appointment for after the new insurance started. She stated that the doctor said they would not fill it and I had to go in. Guess what? I went in and despite, again, explaining the financial and insurance issue - the provider put in for blood tests that could have waited and many of which, unbeknownst to me, my poor insurance wasn't going to cover. Was any of this explained or was I given any sort of heads up to authorize? NO! The Quest phlebotomist even had earbuds in the entire time loud enough that I could hear the music and didn't say a word to me. Then, surprise, surprise, l received a LARGE bill from Quest with multiple unnecessary, duplicate, not covered tests (I was later told by the office manager that there had been a problem with this phlebotomist and she wasn't supposed to have been there, was supposed to have informed me of any charges that might not be covered, and the practice was going to make Quest "eat" this bill - did this happen? No!) Neither the office manager nor the provider will now call me back or get this bill credited. Oh, and by the way to add insult to injury, the Doctor claimed she never told the front desk that I had to come in and gladly would have allowed me to wait until my better insurance took effect. My surprise lab bill in the $100's would have been less than $20!!!!! How is it possible that the doctor's office and Quest can obligate me to a large bill for THEIR mistake?!?! I did speak to someone at Quest who seemed sympathetic to getting this corrected, but as expected - I haven't heard back....... It has been months since all this happened and caused serious stress - isn't the doctor supposed to help with stress management - not cause it? Holding my breath that someone will finally do the right thing - turning blue.... New West is part of Optum. Do you think there is anyone to escalate this to? Not a chance....

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
