I went in for a chemo port removal. I told the surgeon directly that Lidocaine does not work on me and that he would have to use an alternative local anesthetic. The Doctor said he understood and would use a combo of lidocaine and bupivacaine. However, the doctor used Lidocaine only. Only when I started crying from the pain during the surgery did he "remember" to use bupivacaine. As a healthcare provider myself who has to numb up patients, I found the provider's failure to use the correct local anesthetic unacceptable.

I came in via Emt They informed the staff that I had shortness of breath and I was nauseated they sent me in the emergency room waiting room for two hours never checked on me I ended up leaving having to call another EMT and be taken to Saint Joseph where I was treated for eight hours and released thanks PSL you did a great job

I couldn’t be happier with my experience delivering my daughter at P/SL. This is the best hospital I’ve ever received care at. Well before the visit to L&D, the childbirth education resources were phenomenal and all the care providers and educators care deeply about the best outcome for mom and baby. It was the same experience in the delivery and postpartum rooms. All of the L&D/postpartum/baby nurses and physicians were amazing, took good care of us and also respected our wishes and needs. We needed some imaging done for our daughter and all of the right people from the right specializations talked to each other and made swift decisions and we didn’t have to do any work in facilitating that (which has not been my experience at other hospitals). We are really pleased with our overall experience and glad to have such a great hospital in town.
