List of Samuel Y Chan's Reviews
Easy to make appointment. Wonderful office staff. Very caring and has always helped me. I have been seeing him for many years and saved me from surgeries . I highly recommend him.
Went to my appointment off i-70 and Speer and was told my appointment was at the other office (which I didn't even know existed, rushed all the way to Aroura (12th and Colorado) I passed Dr Chan on my way walking into my appointment, we looked at each other and nodded and I went in and he walked off with another gentlemen. After waiting an hour I was told the doctor left to go get his covid vaccine and should be back in about 5 minutes. 20 minutes later he showed up. It is unacceptable to leave with patients in the office to get vaccinated without regard for your patients. He could have at least let us know so we could decide whether we wanted to stay in a snow storm or reschedule. Keep in mind this is after the previous weeks appointment they canceled an hour and a half before my appointment because "something came up". This I leave with bruises after accupunture every time and have decided to cancel all remaining sessions and find a new doctor for treatment. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional doctor and do not recommend people go here....
Dr. Chan saw me for an EMG, told me and my case manager in the office that my nerves were absent, and to proceed with amputation. Also sent a report to my surgeon saying the nerves are absent. We set up a surgery date, and 2 days before surgery, my claim was denied because he told insurance more testing could be done. Even though it would not affect my outcome, they refused my amputation that I had ...
This doctor creates problems for every doctor that comes after him, hes out for the big paycheck no matter what he has to do, or not do, and just leaves problems he cant fix himself.
I had a really bad experience with Dr. Chan. I had a head injury in November of 2018 that lead me to him. He wasted my time when I was with him. He first said I needed pain management and help hitting my rem cycle of sleep. then He made my other doctors think I was making it up when I wasn't. He impeded my medical care. Telling me it was all in my head and i was a druggie. That i just wanted attention. When I didnt want attention, i just wanted help. When i finally got the right medical care, I found out i had a heart condition that came from the head injury ( a gift from my TBI) that caused all my problems that were "unexplainable," to him. I really do not recommend him to anyone. It is not worth going. Look for help elsewhere. I would give a zero if i could for his care.
PS Soon after I saw Dr. Chan the injury has opened up wide, into a painful and persistent wound about the size of a dime. My doctor tells me I had sustained a distended bursal sac and promptly injected cortisone. (Presumably the 'injection' Dr. Chan refused to give me.) Since the wound opened up, I cannot really walk or cycle at all. The number of negative reports about this physician and the expense of fixing his mistakes suggests insurance companies ought to know about him and his standards of care. (Oddly enough he seems like a perfectly smart, crisp professional, suggesting that his failure to provide care or proper references to allied professionals is a business issue -- that is, he denies care on purpose.)
He said my tendon is not torn. That's it. No treatment, no perspective, no referral to a physical therapist, not even when I asked directly. He actually showed me the door. Meanwhile, my injury got a lot worse. I like to be charitable to professionals, who are almost always doing their best. Not him. Avoid this guy.
The service was prompt and Dr. Chan is efficient. I believe I would have had better results if care was continued
Very poor dr, will lie for the insurance company every time
Dr Chan was verbally aggressive with me in the office, went out of his way to defame my character, ending up with his poor actions obviously having a subsequent effect. I must have done something to offend him, and I'm really not sure what I did or said that made him act in such a manner. I went into his office with the sole mission of trying to improve my condition...and unfortunately I regret it...the issues I feel Dr Chan failed to address due to his own misdirection during my visits have left me with having to now pay a lot of money out of pocket just to address them to a necessary degree.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
