I was recommended to Dr Orndorff for a 2nd. opinion after my 1st surgery different dr. was not successful. Dr Orndorff explained everything asked questions answered questions. His staff took care of all details and appointments. My entire experience was well designed. It has been 2 weeks since surgery I am pain free, still have away to go but I am now on the right path. His staff was so very helpful. I will definitely refer you to family. Even if a doctor tells you something like your ok, and you are in pain, You know your body. If something isn't right get a second opion
After a spine surgery left me in more pain 2 years ago. I seeked a 2nd opinion. I took my x-rays CT scans mri from my Dr in GJ and drove them to Dr Orndorff. He drove to Montrose to discuss my case. I barely walked in there 2 months ago. I am on the road to recover. And am pain free. I had the option 2 years ago to see Dr Orndorff in Durrango or one close to home. I should have picked Durrango. Dr Orndorff also travels to Montrose. !!!
Absolutely not! Dr. Orndorf overcorrected my spine when surgery was done for scoliosis. Another surgery is planned at Mayo Clinic to correct this error and to complete other problems that were not corrected. The worst part is that my complaints were ignored by both Dr. Orndorf and his PA. Communication with him is next to nil. He recommended another surgery that still would not have corrected my problems. I have been left unable to straighten my back and have pain in my back and leg that has left me mostly unable to walk properly or to function normally. The surgery was done in February and I will be mostly disabled until after the next surgery at Mayo in August and recovery after that.
Dr Orndorf is friendly and explains everything well. He is patient and caring every time I see him. My surgery was done perfectly and healed quickly. I definitely recommend him for spine surgery.
Dr. Orndorff is a disingenuous person and a substandard surgeon. During my evaluation, he gave me every assurance that the surgery he was advocating for me would correct my problems so that I could once again golf, hike, ride mountain bikes, etc. He spent less than one minute going over the potential for something to go wrong. Of course that is exactly what happened. The surgery was completely botched and led to me contracting a very dreadful disease called CRPS (most painful malady known). I even lost the use of my right leg. All of this 7 years ago now. He described an incident during the surgery where my leg was flailing around the operating table and I had to be restrained (while unconsciousness no less). He came to my room early the next day wondering if I was able to walk considering what took place during surgery. I've now talked to three others who he have had botched surgeries from him and he said the same thing to them, "sometimes bad things happen to good people". DISGUST!
Great Dr.! Keeps you in the know, I believe he is a compassionate and well spoken Dr. He made what we believed to be a scary situation and made it upbeat as to where we gained confidence and strength to get through the surgery. Thank you. The same with Dr. George Baumchen. Great team!
Am playing 9 holes twice a week, Am 78 years old on Nov. 23. Can't thank Dr. Orndorff enough.
Dr. Orndorff and his staff are the best caregivers ever, they literally gave me my life back! I suffered from debilitating back pain and nerve pain for years, which prevented me from standing and walking due to severely degenerated discs and pinched nerves. Dr. Orndorff fused my entire lumbar spine, and I felt relief from the nerve pain immediately! I'm only 6 weeks post op and am walking up to 5 miles a day, more than I imagined I would ever be able to do again. Kudos to all at Spine Colorado!!
I felt that he was attentive and caring, my whole surgery experience was good thanks to him and the staff.
Being a patient of Dr. Orndorff and accredited colleagues for a couple of years makes this move to another state difficult because, Dr. Orndorff and each specialized affiliate at Spine Colorado have been excellent with the care they provided. The Trust, expertise, and integrity found in Dr. Orndorff is immensely significant; integrity decodes merit. Please realize the unequivocal gratitude and admiration, valuing Dr. Orndorff and each proficient compassionate colleague at Spine Colorado for the utmost care and assurance they readily served. Spine Colorado has a pronounced passion for their science and for those who enter their door. Sincerely Yours.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
