Dr. Fitzgerald took the time to explain to me in detail what was going on with my shoulder and what the next steps are. Even in giving me a steroid injection to alleviate inflammation, he explained every step that he was doing from the numbing spray to the pinch of the needle. Superb provider! While I don’t recommend having an injury, if you have to be seen for one he’s the guy!

I had an evaluation of my right shoulder following an injury out of country. This shoulder already had 2 rotator cuff repairs here in NM. Dr. Fitzgerald, who did a rotator cuff repair of my left shoulder in 2019, was very upfront with me saying that a third rotator cuff repair on my right shoulder wasn’t an option, and that I was looking at a reverse shoulder replacement. He clearly explained how the procedure would be done, how long I would be rehabilitating the shoulder, and what I could expect regarding functionality. Compared to my other orthopedic surgeons here locally in NM, Dr. Fitzgerald stands out above the rest. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted him to perform this surgery. He also performs another shoulder procedure called a super capsular reconstruction, but he quickly told me in very clear terms why I was not a candidate for this surgery. I have great peace of mind that I chose the right surgeon for my upcoming reverse shoulder replacement.

Had my 4 month review with Dr Fitzgerald, and he was very happy to see how well I am doing after Reverse Shoulder Replacement surgery. Recommended to continue with home exercise program to strengthen the shoulder.

I would highly recommend Dr. Fitzgerald for orthopedic surgery. I am three months removed from rotator cuff surgery and extremely pleased with the results. Very knowledgeable and caring, which provided a good comfort level. Also impressed with the efficiency of the pre-op administrative staff and the post-op nurses.

I had a great experience with a rotator cuff surgery done by Dr. Fitzgerald. He and the people at OCC were super easy to work with and very knowledgable. I am still working through physical therapy, but I can already tell a big difference in the functionality of my shoulder. Jennifer who does much of the scheduling was wonderful to communicate back and forth with. She was responsive in answering questions and I could always count on getting the information I needed. Kristen Bradley was awesome! We met with her several times and she always had an immense amount of knowledge on what was going to happen and what to expect. Every time we left the doctor's office we felt like we had been given very clear guidance and direction.

The issue for me was the front office staff! I arrived 15 minutes early and wound up waiting for an hour! I asked several times what was the delay and got no answer. This kind of treatment is why people leave providers.

Dr. Fitzgerald was really personable and to the point. Had my family with me and he was very welcoming. Told me exactly what will be taking place in my surgery and assured me I would be taken care of and back to my old self.
