Doctor minimized and downplayed my pain, interrupted me, did not order any testing, was condescending, blamed medical issues on mental illness. This is called Medical Gaslighting and if you experience it, see another doctor as healthcare is your right.

The New York Times has an article on medical gaslighting and it triggered me. Years ago I saw Dr. Steves and she did everything mentioned in article. I was brave to see a doctor to get help for my physical pain and hair loss, but she was not wanting to help at all. From dismissing my pain to blaming it on mental illness, she checked off every mark. Thank you, NYT for educating me on this. I will NEVER trust another doctor who dismisses my pain again, shame on her.

I saw Dr. Steves during my recent pregnancy with my third child. She listened well to all of my concerns and always had suggestions for discomforts, etc. that I had. She and her office were very responsive any time I called in with questions. I felt a little unsure about seeing a family medicine doctor instead of an OB/GYN for this pregnancy but I was very happy with the experience and felt very comfortable with Dr. Steves.

She listens to your concerns and truly cares. She is really difficult to get into because she is so great at what she does. Highly recommend seeing her. She is truly dedicated to her patients.

She is present in all appointments. Listen to all concerns and validates. Searches for answers with you and and provides a test if needed. See your as a individual, and stoves to know you personally.

She is always present in appointments. Great listener, and provides great suggestions when needed. Any time I had a concern she has problem solve, and took each one seriously with best practice in mind. I am happy to have her as my Dr and my son's pediatrician.

Very inefficient staff questionable knowledge unpleasant attitude

Not saying she’s a bad Dr for iive heard one person who really likes her and I followed her recommendation so I’m thinking it really does come down to connection with people and in my opinion, I’m thinking her and I personalities just didnt Connect! My personal experience With her in the last approximate two years has come across as uncaring, annoyed or impatient/ impersonalable (a few time rather rude) , not returning a call regarding a special test I had done to find out test results and to hear my health concerns, whether for me or my adhd daughter. I felt my appointments to be rushed leaving me feeling always upset and frustrated. I was always hoping my next experience would be different but sadly never was. After what I feel is more than enough adequate time to connect with her and that not ever happening, finally puts me at looking for a new dr. One who I hope will show some care and passion in her job as well as in me and my daughters and want to listen to my concerns and health issues so when I leave any appointments I feel good and confident in myself as well as in my doctor!
