List of Joseph Prows's Reviews
My son and I have been seen by Dr Prowse for 6 years and he has always treated us well and professionally. He is caring and straight to the point. Professional and approachable.
While researching to find a new provider I came across this guy, Joseph Prows, who I saw a couple of months ago. All the negative reviews match my own experience and I wish I had paid attention to this site and not wasted my time. Did he display his huge ego during our appointment? Yes. He was all about trying to show how smart he was. Did he avoid reading my medical history before out appointment? Yep. Had no clue. If he would've just read the most recent notes from his colleague (who retired) it would have saved me at least 30 minutes of repeating myself and answering his clueless questions. Did he misdiagnose me because he didn't understand my medical history or didn't bother to learn? Yep! He's unbelievably clueless. I would strongly urge you to avoid seeing Joseph. He'll waste your time and your money, and insult your intelligence, to boot.
I have found Dr Prows to be very attentive, detail oriented and caring. I have had no issues with any of my visits or diagnosed.

Unfortunately the marvelous Dr. Cawley retired and my first spin of the wheel landed on Joseph Prows. He seemed to have the listening skills of a cardboard box, matched what he did hear to fit his preconceived notions, and then outright refused to correct the record when shown the facts. Then he had the audacity to pass along totally incorrect medical information about me to my next choice in a physician. Hopefully he hasn't poisoned that well, but we'll see. As a result of all this and more, Prows gets a very strong DO NOT RECOMMEND. Visiting Joseph as a patient is a waste of time and money.
Absolutely ignorant. Lied in my chart which had to be removed, such remarks led to surgery.
Although I've had decent experiences with Dr. Prows in the past, my last annual wellness visit this month was a disaster. We were extremely rushed, and I did not get my questions answered. He lied to me and told me that his staff had only scheduled the appointment for 15 minutes, although the office manager checked, and assured me I was scheduled for 45 minutes. (This is an ethics violation I will be reporting to the state medical board). He spent less than 30 minutes with me, took me off of one of my medications without having time to discuss the ramifications of that (I had to go back on it 4 days later), and refused my request to see me for the other 15 minutes of my appointment at no charge to me. He documented some of the things that I told him incorrectly. I am looking for a new doctor.
Dr. Prows has been my primary care physician for several years now. He is competent, conscientious, friendly, and helpful, among the best physicians I have ever visited. He called me at 11PM one night because he had just found a test result of mine that alarmed him. On his own time, long after most people quit for the day. Amazing. The support staff is also excellent.
On 4/17/2020 my primary care physician was unavailable so I had a virtual chat with Dr. Prows. This was my first contact with him, and I found him to be friendly, thoughtful and thorough.
New patient. Third appointment on new medication he prescribed and still not right! Beginning of the appointment he stated that my appointment was not scheduled for enough time to discuss the medication and its effects which was my responsibility. He was just a human and with complex problems like mine... He chose not to be my doctor. I agreed.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
