I’ve had a hip replacement done by this doctor. It could not have gone better. Hardly any pain after surgery, and I was able to get around with no problems within an hour after surgery. I went home the next morning. I would recommend this surgeon in a heartbeat.

As much as it pains me to leave a review like this because doctors take serious oaths and work incredibly hard to be in the position Dr. McFerran’s title holds as Orthopedic Surgeon, I feel strongly that I must write it in hopes that other people do not feel alone when they have the same experience. Dr. McFerran could not have spent any less time in the room with his patient. It was like he was about to go on vacation and was clocking out for the day. He barely looked at the MRI, didn’t know about the significant occurrence that led to the injury (all in chart - so he didn’t read it) AND ASKED “Why didn’t you tell me that?” Ummm really? Isn’t that your job to know why we are there?, used obnoxious and absurd assumptions about the patient’s lifestyle without knowing anything about what the patient has been through physically, emotionally, or mentally. It really is so unfortunate that doctors in this day in time can exist with this kind of egotistical and misogynistic attitude.

If you want a Doc that will spend less than 2 minutes with you, not look you in the eye and blame you injury on being a female this is him! I had a significant trauma to my knee and body and he didn’t care even though I had over 10 weeks physical therapy. Lazy and did not care about me as a human!!!!

Dr. McFerran replaced both of my arthritic hips within 3 months, he is a fabulous surgeon with a fantastic bedside manner. He asks questions to familiarize himself with the potential cause of pain and gives helpful responses. His staff was very helpful, from the first appointment until the last follow-up visit, it was like a concierge service moving from department to department to successfully understand the process. Thank you Dr. McFerran!

I saw Dr. Mcferran for a Knee injury. He confirmed my self assessment of a grade 1-2 MCL sprain., approved my plan for progressive exercise for recovery, prescribed a helpful temporary brace which was useful for hiking and skiing and gave me the confidence to return to those activities sooner than I would have otherwise been comfortable with. He communicates very well and does not prescribe unneeded meds. Extremely efficient office environment delivering superior service to their patients.

I was in need of an orthopedic surgeon to advise me based on an MRI result of bone-on-bone damage from osteoarthritis in my right knee. I was 57 years old and was having to walk with a cane. Dr. McFerran advised that I was in need of a total knee replacement and that although they would normally advise to wait to replace due to the current life span of the replacement device, the decision was up to me. I decided to go ahead and he supported me anyway. His bedside manner was great!

Twisted left knee: Clearly explained problem and what follow-up actions were needed; discouraged unnecessary MRI. Straight-forward, no nonsense manner.

This guy gets it done. He's super-focused on diagnosing right, doing the surgery perfectly, and getting you back on your feet without wasting any time. I checked him out on Pro Publica, which rates surgeons and their complication rates - see for yourself, he's got like a zero complication rate (that's good). A go-getting perfectionist who is super-positive and meticulous. So glad I found him, now I'm feeling great and doing everything I used to be able to do.

Dr. McFerran is very professional, very capable. He answered mine and my wife's questions directly. He performed two (2) hip replacements on me (3 months apart). I am very pleased with my new mobility without pain. Dr. McFerran took GOOD care of me.
