List of MIchael Rusnak's Reviews
Our experience with Dr. Rusnak was due to a fall while on vacation in CO. Dr. Rusnak performed emergency surgery on my husbands ankle and the end result is nothing short of Miraculous! Dr. Rusnak came out several times during the surgery to explain the injury; how complicated it was; then it was taking a bit longer due to above. Because of Dr. Rusnak's skill, expertise, patience, capabilities, my husband has the use of his foot. I highly recommend Dr. Rusnak.
This man is extremely unprofessional and I'd never recommend him. My son was injured in a motorcycle accident and broke his leg. Because of covid-19, I was not allowed to be with him. I waited outside the window of the surgery center for the chance to talk with this doctor. He had the nerve to roll his eyes and act inconvenienced when given the suggestion to go to the door and speak with me about my son's surgery. Nevermind the fact that I had been sitting in my car in the parking lot waiting to hear about my son's trauma surgery. Such callous behavior from him. I don't care how good he may be on the operating table, his behavior tells me all I need to know about him. Hard to believe I paid to be treated like that.
Destroyed my ankle, broke my leg after 20ft fall in Estes Park. My local Dr described the bits of my ankle in original x-rays as a “star field of dots”. Rusnak’s Miraculous reconstruction of my talus saved my foot, my ability to walk and my 20+yr career as a broadcast photojournalist. Returned to full time unrestricted work after 9 months 14 days. Covered two 6 month legislative sessions, two hurricanes, a dozen trials as part of my daily assignments. Experienced some minor loss of mobility but still able to walk without a limp. Still covering news on the streets of Austin, Texas 7 yrs later! Thank you Dr Rusnak!
I crashed on my ElliptiGO elliptical bicycle on May 8, 2019 and on May 9, 2019 Dr. Michael Rusnak put the proximal humerus fracture back together with a plate and screws. The first and second times I saw him was the day after the crash and hours, and then right before he performed the surgery. The third time I saw him was 11 days after surgery when the staples were removed. He is not a warm doctor but he is a great surgeon. That is what matters. I was glad to have read that about him before I met him so I wasn't shocked at his lack of social skills. At my follow up appointment he barely looked at me at all, but was explaining to a new PA what he did and why, while looking at my before and after x-rays. The bottom line is, I'm glad he was my surgeon. My Physical Therapist said Dr. Rusnak did a good job, judging from how much motion I had in my shoulder 14 days after surgery.
Dr. Rusnak is an excellent trauma surgeon. I had a pilon fracture in Steamboat, where I had my fixator applied and then transferred to Dr. Rusnak's care for the repair. Pilon fractures are complex and he did an incredible job putting my leg back together. He was personable, compassionate and professional. His staff was friendly, accommodating and professional as well.
BEWARE
Dr Rusnak provided immediate diagnosis and surgery to my ruptured A Keeley‘s tendon and was extremely informative and post op care was excellent
ONe of the worst physician experiences ever; 820 appt....finally saw my wife at 945; while we do understand if a surgeon is in an emergency procedure that it will take precedence any day over consultation appts (although we don't know what the reason was); however, we were told it would only be 20 minutes delay which stretched into 1 1/2 hours; we were not kept abreast of DR. Rusnak's ETA by any of the MAs, just left to ourselves to wonder if we were going to be seen or, if so, WHEN? Finally, Dr. RUSNAK showed up, offered NO apology for being late, bypassed me (HUSBAND) without any introduction, and acted like he was bored with the whole process! Rude, impatient, and was not forthcoming with relevant information unless asked. Another of many examples where the doctor thinks their time is more important than the patient's. Arrogance personified.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
