Adam Mecinski's Online Review Report Card

I recently underwent a prophylactic double mastectomy and Dr. Adam Mecinski performed the reconstruction. He was attentive, patient, caring, and informative. He took the time to explain every aspect of the procedure (before and after) and answered all my questions (and I had a million!) in a straight-forward way that I really appreciated. He explained all of the options and associated risks in an easy to understand way so that I could make the best decision for my health, never pushing me one way or another. Following the surgery, I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and called him, scared and worried, at 9:30PM on a Sunday night. He not only took my call but took the time to talk me through how to handle it with grace and compassion, which I greatly appreciated. He displayed a consistently caring and compassionate temperament which helped me tremendously through this journey, and never once did I feel like I was bothering him or that I was "just another patient" to him. Oh, and he did fantastic work! I am so pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Mecinski to anyone needing breast reconstruction. His staff was always friendly, professional and responsive. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better surgeon who truly cares about his patients!

I am in the middle of getting bilateral mastectomy, I’ve only seen Dr Adam once I was so scared his staff was great. They calmed me down said We know this is stressful, but we got you. They were right. The doctor was awesome. The staff was awesome. Treated me with respect thank you !

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Mecinski and his office staff. He performed oncologic breast reduction at the time of my cancer surgery, and the follow up was caring and thorough, helping me through the entire healing process. I highly recommend Dr. Mecinski to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon in the Frederick area.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Dr. Mecinski carefully and conscientiously treated my infected right thumb three years ago, after I had been bitten by a cat. It had developed into a life-threatening condition: a red streak was rapidly moving up my arm, and I was especially concerned that my heart might get infected (I had been given a bovine tissue aortic valve transplant five years previously). Until someone at the hospital recommended Dr. Mecinski, I had been unable to find ANY advertised surgeons willing to take my case. In fact, I was unable to get through to any of the local, highly-promoted hand surgeons because, as their receptionists informed me, they NEVER take on cat-bite surgeries. (It is not well known that cat bites can provoke very dangerous infections, very difficult to treat effectively, especially in finger joints.) I ended up in the hospital for two weeks on powerful intravenous antibiotics; and fortunately, Dr. Mecinski was recommended to me by word-of-mouth (he was not the kind of guy to buy expensive ads) as one who would take my case. He came into my hospital room with a backpack slung over his shoulder, friendly and utterly unpretentious. He looked at my thumb, he said I might want to take a chance that it would heal slowly without surgery, though the infection might damage the knuckle bone and tissues -- a choice not much better than if he did an I&D ("Irrigation and Draining") inside the knuckle capsule to fully flush it out. The I&D, however, would almost certainly leave the thumb with a limited range of motion. I opted for the I&D, and the thumb rapidly started to heal. He was right about the limited range of motion, though, so he recommended a hand therapist named Per Jensen who in his opinion was the best in the Frederick area (Per Jensen, who in my own opinion really is excellent, now practices in Clarksburg, down I-270). As for the limited range of motion: Per Jensen helped it a bit, but as Dr. Mecinski was honest to expect, my right thumb never got back to its original level of flexibility. Inconvenient, as expected, but usable. Since then, I've been recommending Dr. Mecinski to everyone in need of hand surgery.

Dr. Mecinski removed my melanoma. He was absolutely great and all of his staff were so friendly and helpful! They all went the extra mile to get me taken care of and I so very much appreciate all of them for everything! Thank you!

My 4 years old daughter had an accident and required urgent interventions by plastic surgeon to put together the facial laceration that she sustained in an accident. Dr. Mecinski was able to see her the next day after the accident and operated on her the following day. Him and his team provided exceptional care. Very knowledgeable and professional group!

I got a breast reduction by Dr. Mecinski in July of last year! He made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process and answered every single question I had about the surgery! The office staff is also kind and amazing and helped me work with my insurance provider. 100% recommend for anyone considering surgery!
