Mesa View Internal Medicine's Online Review Report Card

The doctors I have seen are great in person, but the communication from the front office is absolutely terrible. I have ADHD and go here to be able to maintain my prescription to be able to let me live a full life inside and outside of work. I understand that the government has put regulations on my prescription making sure that people with the prescription does not abuse it. I'll list a few examples: (i) They made me take a drug test to be able to get my prescription. I understand, you want to make sure that I am not using any hard drugs and am taking the medication as prescribed. The part that I don't understand, is why am I the only one in my friend group that has ADHD that has to do this drug test? (ii) When talking with my provider, we discussed that doing a 3 month prescription would be better for me than a single month prescription. What gets send in is a single month prescription and when I tried to get that corrected I do not hear a single thing back from the office. (iii) I was told that every 6 months I would have to come in and do this whole processes to make sure that I am taking the prescription as prescribed. I was also told it has to be seen with my provider and that a different provider would not be able to make the prescription. I get it, I really do, but the part that I do not get is that I scheduled an appointment in October then I was told it had to be moved to November then was told to move it to December while I was ensured that was okay with the 6 month checkin to make sure that I can maintain my prescription. Now when I go and try to get my prescription again, I have to be seen in person every 3 months and that it was my fault for scheduling an appointment so far out, so no I will not be able to get my prescription. (iv) I was not communicated about the laws around what I am going through until it was simply too late. This is extremely frustrating because I jumped through hoops on my end to accommodate this doctors office and they would not reciprocate. I can not tell you how many time I have to call and call and call to be able to get my voice heard from them. I understand there are laws around my situation, but what I do not understand is why the office cannot communicate to me on what we have to do while telling me something else is completely ok. I am not coming back to this office because of scheduling and the office and how rude and belittling they are when they are.

I’ve never had a worse experience than I have at this practice. The only good PA left last year. They are consistently understaffed. Having your appointments canceled is a consistent and reoccurring event. When you do get an appointment it is made with a PA from another practice that is temping and doesn’t feel comfortable doing literally ANYTHING that you need a doctor for. Looking for a new provider, as they continue to fail me as a patient even when I advocate for myself.

This office is a joke. I’ve been brought to tears multiple times because of the frustration they bring. I even wrote the office manager and didn’t hear anything back. I have a laundry list of issues here. I would strongly recommend finding a different practice.

I have been going here for years and really liked Dr. Kelly, & ditto with Dr. Cannarozzi who I've seen since Dr. Kelly left. Dr. C is wonderful. However, booking appointments here -- specifically annual checkups -- has become abysmal. Called in May hoping to schedule for July, and couldn't set an appt. til mid-September. Then in late August, staff called me to say Dr. C would be out of the office on my scheduled Sept. day and I had to reschedule. Next appointment available? It was end-November! Let's see -- so it takes over six months between scheduling and having an annual checkup. Really?? I'm betting the newer owners (Optum) of this practice have limited the number of 'low-revenue' annual exams the docs can schedule.

THE ONE STAR IS ONLY BECAUSE IT'S MANDATORY. Don't waste your time (and trust me, they will make you waste time.) Worst office ever. Waited 4 months for a "meet and greet" with a PA, then another 5 months for an actual physical, only to show up and find out the appointment was cancelled and I was never notified. Completely incompetent staff. But they have confirmed doctor offices care as much about their patients as they do about the chairs they sit their fat asses on. And that doctors are a waste of time and money.

I made an appointment a month in advance to be seen and even got a text message to confirm my appointment and I did. I show up to my appointment and the the rude guy at the front looked at me like I was in the wrong place and told me I didn’t have an appointment. I showed him the text confirmation I received and he told me they called me to tell me my doctor wasn’t in. I didn’t recieve a call, a text, or even a message on the app to tell me that this was the case. I then stood there for 20 minutes while he stared blankly at the screen before I was able to make an appointment that was yet another month out.

Have been a patient for over 20 years. My last Dr retired and now I see Dr Cannarozzi. She's kind, compassionate and really cares. She listens and takes her time with me. I really like her a lot! She gets 5 stars. 4 to the front desk.

I DO NOT recommend going to New West Physicians Mesa View or PA Jenna Tatgenhorst. No one should EVER have to call their doctor repeatedly to let them know their test results are in and that action is needed by them! If I could get them a 0 rating I would. My sleep study results were sent to PA Jenna Tatgenhorst the beginning of May. I found this out after calling the sleep study office in the middle of May wondering what was going on. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. I sent a message through the portal asking Jenna Tatgenhorst to complete the paperwork, no response, I followed up with the phone call a few days later. She finally called but didn't complete the paperwork correctly. Every week I would call the office begging them to get the corrected information faxed over to the sleep study. To no avail. I was told it was faxed but they couldn't tell me where it was faxed to. The sleep study never received it. I asked them to fax it again and to please call me when it was done. I never received a call. NOT ONCE did the office staff ever offer to call the Sleep study to help get this resolved. They all need to take a course in customer service skills. Personally I think that Jenna Tatgenhorst never corrected or completed the paperwork so there was nothing to fax. Now 2 months later, as result of her incompetence and non response my claim was denied. I called Mesa View for help and was told quite rudely by Carly C that Jenna Tatgenhorst. went out on maternity the day before. I asked to speak to the physician handling Jenna's patients. She said one hadn't been assigned yet. (seriously you only had nine minutes months to get this figured out...) I asked for the office manager Jen to call me. It's been several days now and she still has not called me. Totally unacceptable! I get a faster and a more compassionate response from my garbage company when my garbage hasn't been picked up then I do from my health providers office. Very sad! I guess my health is not important to her or anyone at Mesa View. Frustrated, at the lack of compassion and response from Mesa View, I made an appointment at NWP Golden View. Fortunately I was able to get in right away. Of course I am now out an additional copay because of the incompetence of Jenna Tatgenhorst and the staff at Mesa View. The office staff at Golden View was wonderful. The doctor was great, compassionate, and helpful. He got my claim denial reversed and got my CPAP materials ordered the very same day! If you value your health DO NOT go to New West Physicians Mesa View.

The doctors and PAs are so great, but they've unapologetically canceled my appointments multiple times and every time offered me rescheduled appointments months out. Often I have to physically walk into the office to get an appointment because the phones are so backed up. Do not recommend this office if you are a single parent with very limited time and can't be canceled on constantly.

Very good appointment with the PA Jenna getting my Prescriptions up to date. The office staff is great. Glad to be back.
