Joy Ruff Md's Online Review Report Card

Another doctor/midwife delivered our first son, which was from a c-section. We didn't understand the reasons that lead to this c-section despite asking questions. We were told (and very thankful) for having a healthy, beautiful baby boy. Fast forward to our second child. From the beginning, Dr. Ruff has been honest, caring, and supportive throughout our second pregnancy. She explained things and answered our questions. When it was time to have our beautiful baby girl, we tried to have her naturally. During labor, she was supportive and communicated with us during our whole experience. After trying to push, we needed to have a c-section. She listened and cared for us through out our whole delivery of our daughter. She also was able to give us answers of why we needed a c-section (for both our son and daughter). Fast forward to today. Dr. Ruff continues to care for my partner and daughter. Dr. Ruff is professional, knowledgeable, and cares for you as if you are her friend. We would always recommend Dr. Ruff for a OBGYN and family doctor.

The office in Johnstown was where I began my journey and it was semi positive. With the exception of there is no separate room for sick patients verses well patients. So there you sit, well and healthy for a yearly check up with fever ridden people, running nosed children running around while their parents stared at a phone screen hoping you didnt leave their infected. However Dr Ruff moved solely to Greeley. Still mo separate room for sick patients. From there my experience with Family Physicians declined rapidly. The front office staff did not make eye contact, they were dismissive and curt. Dr Ruff looks at the computer screen a lot. Yearly check ups consisted of a nurse weighing you and checking your blood pressure. No checking of ears, throat, reflexes etc. Basically it was like going through an automated car wash. Getting prescriptions filled was at best a nightmare. I thought it was my pharmacy [Good Day] so I transferred to Walgreens, then to Kroger. In 4 years and 3 different pharmacies I've yet to get a call back from Dr Ruff's office regarding prescription refills. I've seen from all 3 of these pharmacies computer screens requesting refills with 5 and 6 messages sent to Dr Ruff and no response. I've gone onto Dr Ruff medfusion portal [what a joke] and no pending messages. My husband kept getting regular emails requesting a colonoscopy that was over due which he didn't need, but we were told it was a computer program glitch. We tried relocating from the Greeley office back to Johnstown to have Dr Brown as our PCP but after a year of "the Dr is on vacation] but someone will call you back, etc., with no follow-up we decided to go elsewhere. This was all pre Pandemic. It's now September I've been waiting since August for prescription refills. No response or call back from Dr Ruff. This office is non compliant .

Dr. Ruff is wonderful, she is exceeded all of our expectations with the birth of our son. Her skillset and wisdom are unmatched along with her compassion with the pregnancy was the best experience we've ever had. (This is our third child) We had so many questions through the pregnancy and many different times where we were concerned and she provided care beyond what was required to assure that we were taken care of. Our baby was born via C section and she performed the operation, she was so caring and compassionate to my wife before during and after the procedure to make sure not only our son was safe but also my wife was safe and comfortable. She really cares about her patients! After the surgery she came in and checked on the baby and my wife each day. She also performed our sons circumcision and did another outstanding job. During this time we learned she is also a family medicine doctor so we switched our entire family to her care. I would highly recommend Dr. Ruff for any family, OB or pediatric care! She will make sure you get what you need and find answers if she doesn't already know them. Dr. Ruff is hands down the best Dr we have ever had and we're thrilled to be under her care! **Highly Highly recommend** If I could give her 10 stars I would!
