Dr Bess was my surgeon for my second back surgery 20 years ago. I chose him because I had seen him and his caring demeanor with his patients on the surgical unit that I worked on at the hospital. I'm going to be having a 3rd back surgery on the 18th of October and if I was still in Colorado Dr Bess is who I would want for this surgery too.

Easy to schedule with, explained everything very well, easy to schedule surgery with, facility used was great in every way. Not regretting choosing him AT ALL!! BEDSIDE MANNER IS FANTASTIC!!!

I received a 6 level lower sppinal fusion by Bess Sr. Turned out to be a disaster. Broken hardware and incompetent surgery. Ten years later had to be entirely redone with two added levels. Don't use the Sr. Bess unless you want your oil changed!

Dr Bess and his staff did a great job on my knee surgery. His post op follow up was great and my kneel heeled up as I had hoped. He was really good at answering all my questions. His staff was great at scheduling.

Both visits I had to wait about 30 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. The last time I could hear him in with another patient and finally 40 minutes after my appointment time he came into my room, which did not appear to have been cleaned. Quick visit. Probably half the visit was spent by him talking about what a great and private surgery center he has in Castle Rock versus all of the sketchy hospitals near his office. Why would I want to go so far? His staff seems pretty incompetent. I needed authorization for the MRI and it was never sent. I badgered them. They sent the insurance contact the doctors notes but not a request. Ultimately, they didn’t send it. Instead, my insurance contact ended up contacting them two weeks after they were supposed to send it. They were also supposed to send the notes of the MRI and surgery authorization. Nothing has been sent. I do not feel confident in using him for surgery and I am seeking a second opinion.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Bess and his staff. He is a fantastic surgeon! He saved me after years of chronic back pain. I have never felt better!!

This guy does unnecessary surgery on patients. He is unethical and eager to cut you open before trying conservative measures first. Its all about $$$. Go to someone else!

I cant thank you enough doctor Bess. You took great care of me and must be an excellent surgeon because I healed up beautifully!! i have complete full use of my arm and shoulder. You were very kind, cared, and I thank you for all you did especially since I'm one of the poor people out there that usually get passed by from such a good surgeon. Thank you again
