List of MIchael A. Volz's Reviews
I have been a patient of Dr. Volz for over 15 years. He really listens to his patients and will connect things that you never thought had anything to do with allergies. I was having stomach issues and saw several specialist who ran test but never really found the cause. Mentioned it to Dr. Volz who ran more allergy testing - turns out I'm allergic to wheat, even though every other specialist said what I was experiencing wasn't a food allergy. Felt so much better within a month.
Dr. Volz is fantastic. I was diagnosed with CVID 4 years ago after spending 5 and a half months in Sky Ridge, Presbyterian, St. Anthony's and University hospitals. Almost died twice and no one could figure out what was wrong and why my spinal infection persisted with an IV pickline for the antibiotics. Been going to him for over 4 years now and most likly would not have survived this long without him. He is patient, knowledgeable, current, explains options and answers all my questions. He staff is courteous and efficient. I have been in crisis several times and he has always responded to me. He CARES. I have been to the Mayo clinic in Rochester twice to try to find a better quality oflife, no help. I ended up back in the hospital at St. Mary's. They've got nothing on Dr. Volz. He is the best.
The doctor himself was fine and thorough, but stay away from this office due to rigid billing and false information given by the front desk girl. She gave me a code to give to my insurance company to see how much I would owe for an office visit, as I'm unemployed due to Covid. Later, I was billed a higher amount and she argued with me (super rude person) that she gave me the correct code. I had written down what she gave me. So she lied. Secondly, they wanted to do an allergy test and demanded $250 up front (which I gave them) that they collected while I was sitting in the room....instead of running it through my insurance first. They also dont take credit cards (cash or check only....very antiquated, saving a buck). Thirdly, I had a balance of $123 and since lost my unemployment benefits. I called to make a payment plan and waited to hear back. Nothing, no communication. When I called back, the billing office told me they asked the office manager if I could pay a small amount. They said $40 has to be paid per month, even though I have no funds coming in and I'd be referred to Collections. I offered to pay what I can afford, but they declined it. How inhumane is this! The girl at the front desk is very rude and was talking over me the whole time so I had to hang up. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Dr. Volz may not know what's going on and she would not let me talk to him.
This office is shady. I call and the secretary hangs up or won't even answer the phone. I've been seeing him for over a year and still don't have a treatment plan. He keeps having you come back every month and doesn't change your medicine or anything. I agree with the other review.. He is smart... Smart at raping your insurance company and wasting your time.
Dr. Volz is a FANTASTIC physician and is a real advocate for his patients. He listens carefully and gets to the root cause of the problem and thinking outside the box in what could be unusual causes for manifestations a person may be having. He has two locations in CO and his staff is excellent. I recommend to all who live in the Denver metro area.
I visited with Dr. Volz yesterday for an initial assessment of my rather complex medical conditions. He was extremely generous with his time and attention to detail and outlined a treatment plan for me going forward. I am impressed with his knowledge and professionalism and look forward to our continuing relationship. His support staff from the front desk to Rob and Laura were extremely helpful, supportive and professional. I consider Dr Volz a rock star in the medical community.
Dr. Volz helped me get on the right path for a diagnosis, but I kept being given the run-around by his office staff. I was told that because he is a specialist, he does recommendations, not referrals. So I needed another appt with primary even though I had just seen them. They also said that he was too busy to coordinate care with my other physicians and that if they wanted to call him, he might be able to answer, but he is usually too busy to be interrupted and won't call out.
Really seems to want to figure out the cause of symptoms instead of just giving pills to releive symptoms.
I have been seeing Dr Volz for 11 years, he is a one of a kind doctor he actually listens to what a patient has to say and has always allowed me to help decide what treatment I need, he really listens to what I have to say, he doesn't treat as inferior like most doctors do. I credit him for saving my life on more than 1 occasion. Best doctor I have ever seen hands down
Dr Volz team has been incredibly unresponsive, unprofessional, and I would never recommend his practice to anyone. I waited over 6 weeks for lab results, that had already been resulted, and was told this was due to 200 labs being reviewed each week and mine were not life threatening so did not warrant any immediate action. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
