List of Gunnison Valley Health Hospital's Reviews
I agree with the other reviews on here. They do bill without explanation of costs and I even asked for an itemized statement, was told I would get one and still have not. I had a small spider bite looked at, nothing was done to it besides a bandage put on and I am not exaggerating - the bill was just over $300. Astonishing. I still have note received an itemized billing statement despite asking AGAIN which is required by law when requested.
Beware going to this hospital! My elderly dad had a minor toe injury and they exploited him and ran excessive tests, charging hundreds of dollars. Now we owe over $700 to a debt collection company and cannot even dispute the charges.
Merry Christmas. Go here if you want to have your HIPPA violated
Do you want to not get helped and receive a $5,500 bill? This is your to-go place.
The staff at the ER was so kind and sweet to me, really made my situation so much easier to handle. Thank you all at Gunnison Valley Health
Total joke never heard so many people laughing while others wait for treatment glad yall have time to gossip. Awful place.
The worst experience in Colorado. If you are in need go elsewhere please. Doctor will walk out if you disagree with anything they say or do, and refuse to see or treat you. Very unprofessional and despicable, you should be ashamed of yourselves seriously, your medical licenses should all be stripped from malpractice.
Avoid this emergency department and protect your wallet. I accompanied my boyfriend into the ED after an ATV accident. He needed an x-ray and I just had some scrapes and bruises. I received a tetanus shot and a bit of Neosporin, and I got a bill for $1200. I didn't even dirty up a hospital bed or have my own room. I sat in a hard chair next to my boyfriend's bed. It sure seems like double billing to have both of us pay outrageous fees. When I asked them to revisit the bill, the first letter was very pleasant and they said they were looking into it. The next letter included a lie about my care and declared the case "closed." It directed me to talk to the state if I still had "concerns." There was no breakdown of costs, no explanation about what services (beyond the tetanus shot and free bacitracin) I had consumed to warrant this bill. I have insurance! Evidently it costs $1000 to walk through their doors. Honestly, I'd rather give my attorney the $1200 than pay this bill.
My brother messed up his arm pretty bad and he was bleeding super bad. They got him in there and immediately started working on him. However, the staff were horrible. They were lolligagging around and laughing while my brother was in the room waiting to get worked on. Someone had called and told the front desk lady that they had someone unconscious and they were 3 minutes away from them, all they did was tell then that they should call an ambulance. So now i wait here. Staff were horrible. Thats it.
Don't get me wrong the nurse was really nice but if there was another hospital closer I would have gone to the other hospital

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
