In my pre-operative meeting with Dr Field, he listened to my serious concerns about a problem I had with surgery earlier in the year. His attention to the problem made it possible for me to go into surgery feeling fully confident.

Dr Field explains everything in easy to understand language and asks appropriate questions pertaining to your particular surgery. He's very personable and approachable and has a great sense of humor. I felt very relaxed and ready to go into surgery knowing I was in capable hands.

Dr. Field was my anesthesiologist for knee surgery on May 6, 2013. He did a wonderful job of ensuring that i was informed and ready for surgery and that i would recover quickly. He called me the night before to see if I had any questions. Prior to surgery, he talked to me about his medication plan, and made me feel very comfortable. He has a great attitude and assured me that he would do everything he could to avoid any post-surgery anesthesia nausea. I was peacefully put to sleep and woke up feeling much better than expected. Dr. Field did a great job, and I hope I have him again if I ever need more surgery. I highly recommend him as an anesthesiologist.

Unfortunately for me because of having James Field as my anesthesiologist I had a c-section without anesthesia. I stated that I was in pain but he told the OB. to continue. I thought I was being tortured and dying. When I spoke to Field about the incident later he stated that my face didn't grimace when I stated I was I could feel "below" the curtain. Unfortunately his judgement call resulted in a traumatic experience for me and I do not feel that he understood has his action and effected my experience and health. I never received an apology. He failed his responsibility to me as his patient both during and after the surgery. I do not recommend him.
