I saw Dr. German for years. I followed her from a group to her private practice because she was attentive and truly cared about me as a patient. She was always straight forward to me and never tried to sugar coat things which helped me get in best health of my life. No long wait and never a problem getting appointment. Please note she has a.medical condition and you cant have perfumes. If you do you will be dismissed from office. She is not being mean or crazy. Worth th switch to nonsense items to see her whenever needed.
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing Dr. Gelman is. Not only is she an outstanding doctor but her staff is also great. When I was going to Surgical Tech school, I had the Honor and Privilege to watch her perform surgery and I'll forever be greatful for that experience. I highly recommend her to anybody.
Hassle! The staff was goofing around and messed up my blood work order. I was supposed to be tested for Thyroid, but instead was tested for Testosterone. I called the office twice to get my results. I was told they haven't received them yet. I didn't realize they messed up until I got the bill from LabCorp. I called the office again and I was told that the bill would be taken care of. Today I received a notice from Labcorp that they will be sending me to collection if the amount is not paid. I called the office again and kindly explained to Allison, (who gave me attitude), snapping at me, "if you give me a minute I will take care of this. Nobody told me to do this. I'll call you back!". They should have admitted the mistake in the first place when I called twice to get my results rather than telling me, "we are still waiting on those results". An apology rather than attitude would have been appreciated as well. Unprofessional in my opinion.
The numerous times I saw Doctor Gelman she made me repeat my symptoms every time as though I was a new client and had some of the information wrong in my chart. I was made to wait 20, 30 and 40 minutes. One time, while she spoke with her husband and staff about the lottery as if I didnt have my own job to get to. Overall, she made me fell uneducated and like I did not know my own body, was condescending, fat shaming, made me feel as though the pain I experience is made up and unprofessional.
Pros: Dr. Gelman is a knowledgable doctor who is adept with procedures. Dr. Gelman is clear and kind during exams. She is able to build a relationship with patients. Cons: Although kind, at times she can make a person feel mildly selfconscious/embarrassed. She could be more extensively wellresearched in all side effects/impacts of treatment. There could be more online research and focus on aftertreatment care. I recommend her for annual exams, birth control.
Dr. Julie Gelman, is a godsend, she is absolutely fantastic! She not only did my total hysterectomy, she also helped me with my weight loss. She is a full service women's healthcare center on her own. Everyone in her office was wonderful. I am ashamed to say I have not been back for a while, due to some personal stuff in my life, but I plan on getting back to her office and back on track as soon as possible. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor, whatever you need she is able to provide excellent care, and has a no nonsense approach that I really appreciate.
Had talked to the office when appointment was made and found out she was out of network. We agreed to pay the without insurance rate $170. After the visit we tried to pay at the desk but were told not to pay, that they would submit the bill to the insurance company and see what the insurance would cover. The insurance company paid $300 for out of network, we were billed over $500 for what the insurance didnt cover. We called several times to clear this up, finally we went to the office. We were very polite, we truly thought they would discuss and try to resolve it. We were instructed to leave or they said they would call security.
I just saw Dr. Gelman for the first time and she was fantastic! All I could hope for in a doctor....attentive, competent, efficient, and funny. Her nurse Allison was also wonderful and her experience was evident. Very good care and Alpenglow Medical Spa itself is an incredibly friendly and comfortable environment.
It took a month to get an appointment with Dr, Gelman. 90 minutes prior to the appointment her office called and stated that Dr. Gelman had declined me as a patient since I was not a good fit for her. This woman is bizarre. I am glad I did not see her since I do not want to deal with a nut.
She is a good person. And family friend. But a down right HORRIBLE doctor. Did not believe what I said. Always claimed I was wearing cologne and that I was a danger to her. Was constantly being kicked out and rescheduled. And the absolute worst part of all, she made a mistake on my chart that led to me being screwed in a lawsuit from back injury in car accident. She has a great staff. Always attentive. But if your looking for a doctor, go somewhere else. If you want a friend, then go see her.
I love her approach. She involves me, the patient, in decisions and respects my decisions.
first time when to Her,,she is no a bad dr,but her Job is more like hobbie . Shes have this fear! to perfume, she came and start sniffing my husband, all around!!..??,!She had cofused diasnosis from: neck Anurism to blockage she had the papers on hand!really!! :( I try to see her for emergency slip and fall, she dint see me! because perfume securityissue, and secretary referd me to Dary Road Urgent Care, and that was the best she did for me,because they are very good!!)its a very good Care in that place,Perfume patient Welcome! Never whent back. .Be aware!! You never know if You will be seen that day or not! ,because the Perfume issue.
Was told only one problem per appointment. Never went back.
They were caring and took the time to really get to know my condition. Very good overall experience. I highly recommend.
Dr Gelman took the time to answer all my questions, and she seemed to truly care about me. I was not just a number to her. I highly recommend her, and Ive sent my friends too.
I went to see Dr. Gelman for a urinary tract infection which I had seen her for last year. When I got there, someone in her office smelled perfume and decided it was me. I am aware of her allergic reactions and was wearing no perfume or lotion. After a half hour of waiting her receptionist said Dr. Gelman didnt think it would be a good fit (whatever that means) and I was referred to an urgent care clinic. When she was at Osler, I thought we had a great relationship as she trained in Chicago and my sister was an RN at the same hospital. I have never been treated so unprofessionally in all my 71 years. I hope people read all the reviews and consider another doctor.
My experience with Dr. Gelman has been fantastic. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my appointment and her staff is very polite and professional. Dr. Gelman is very intelligent but has the ability to speak in terms that I was able to understand. She takes the time to explain all of the available options in treating your condition and even works with me to prescribe the necessary medicines that are covered by my health insurance. She even gives me a copy of any lab results and explains what they mean. I would highly reccomend Dr. Gelman.
I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Gelman. She is extreamly intelligent and knowledgable, but has the ability to speak in terms that I can understand. She even went the extra mile to work with me to find the most affordable medications that would be covered by my insurance plan. The other things that I appreciate about this doctor are her appointment are on time, I have never waited more than 10 min. for my appointment and her staff is very helpful and friendly.
Dr. Gelman is an excellent physician and a very caring person. She always takes time to answer questions fully and is respectful of patients viewpoints and concerns. She provides the necessary information, explains what you dont understnd, then encourgaes your input on decisions. Making the effort to come to her office frangrancefree (staff is always careful to remind you)is a small price to pay for her professional services.
She insist you be fragrance free, and acts unprofessional if your not. This doctor started out well, but apparently is experiencing burnout as the time went on. Which is why I sought a new doctor. She okay if you dont have anything life threatening, a common cold, zpak and she great for you. Anything more? you need to search further.
